CoolFunkMan Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I'm planning on buying an external hard drive within the next few weeks (if I can afford it.) I do have space for another IDE in my PC, but I want to save it for now as I will eventually upgrade my pc and go SATA. Plus I might wanna share stuff with my mates, and this would make things a hell of a lot easier. I was thinking of going for the one here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Maxtor_External.html (Maxtor OneTouch III 300GB T14G300, though might go for the 500GB version - cash/price depending.) Any other recommendations? Ty if anyone can help! ^^
Konfucius Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 I don't have this particular model but I also have Maxtor OneTouch and I didn't have any problems so far. It's actually quite robust and together with USB 2.0 access time is very fast. I also heard many good things about Seagate. But I think you can't go very wrong with either of them.
BGS Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 No offense mate but use the search, there seems to be a "I'm planning on buying an extrenal hard drive but which one should I buy?" question every few weeks.
Calza Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 No offense mate but use the search, there seems to be a "I'm planning on buying an extrenal hard drive but which one should I buy?" question every few weeks. Yeah Heres my one, they might be some there you havn't looked at
CoolFunkMan Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Okay then, so that's sorted. Thanks for the help folks! ^^
Dieter Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 It's probably too late but meh: Another thing you can do is buy an enclosure for an internal hdd... usually ends up being a lot cheaper but a little bit more bulky.
