The fish Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 OK, this file, called "atmclk" is being a right bugger and using up between 73 and 99% of my processor's power... Norton or online virus scanners can't find it, let alone destroy it, and I can't close it through Task Manager as it just re-opens. AnVir is trying to block it, but all that is happening is it keeps opening and closing. I can't delete it from it's directory(C/WINDOWS/System32/atmclk.exe) because it is always in use. Anyone know how to destroy/stop it, or a program that deletes files flat out, no matter what they are doing at the time? Thanks in advance...
christophicus Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Im having something aof the same problem as you are having ,i havent fixed it yet but if i do i will let you know.
Bogbas Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Well his popped to my mind: When you star your comp go to start-->run-->msconfig (or faster way: hit windows key+r and type msconfig) Then on the tabs 'services' and 'startup' there's a list of things that are ran when you boot up. Try searching for the file that you know is the virus, disable it,reboot and try cleaning it now.
