If you think about it, the controller has never been so important to a console. I wonder if the controller will form the second half of the Wii name - not in a marketing sense, but by word of mouth. If the controller has a name that fits onto the end of Wii, it makes the single syllable name make even more sense.

This is just my own crazy talk, but I'm guessing the controller won't in fact even be called a controller. It will be given more prominence.

HAHA. Can you pass me the "Wii"-mote pweese

That's exactly it. Wii've all pretty much been calling it a remote since its initial showing.........and that was the reason why Nintendo chose a shape like that for the controller, as TV remotes are recognised by all.

Wii-mote could very well happen.

I still prefer the FHC, the "Wii"-mote sounds childish when you say it.

I wonder if they had a bunch of little 2 and 3 year olds in a boardmeeting, and having them come up with names.

Little kid: "Mr. Satoru Iwata where can I put me Soady? It too cold and it hurts me Teef."

Iwata: "Aww it hurts your teeth huh, WELL THATS TOO FREAKING BAD!! And I can tell you where you can put your FREAKING Soady too!
