I recently went in to my local cash converter to find a stack full of PS2 games and only 4 GC games. The only decent one being Zelda:WW which I already had. Disappointed, I moved on to the next shop.

Then a great idea hit me last night... games usually go for dirt cheap in cash converter.. so I thought why not buy the games from cash converter (GC, PS2, X-Box, whatever) take them into Gamestation and trade them in for another game. Fair enough it would be wise to check they will offer you more for trade in that what you buy it for. Even if it's only a £1 or so more.. buy a few games and put them towards a new game you want. You could find you're knocking a fiver off.

I plan on going to see how much they will trade in for WW, and if it's cheaper I will put this little plan into action.

Just my thoughts.

ture. i think more people will buy ps2 games more, if theyre newish then you could see them giong for up to a tenner on ebay. gamestores imo arent good for trade ins. i mean FF chrystal chronicles(i know i traded it so what) was like £7 for cash in, £10 for trade in. crap i think after paying £40 for it, mind i didnt give them the box it came in with the GBA to GC lead.

however if i do see some cheap ps2 games i might put this scheme into action and see how muich i can raise...

I've been doing that very same thing for years, e.g buying games cheap from second-hand places and trading them in at Game, sometimes it works out quite well, and yes, you can end up saving yourself about £5 or £10 on new releases, however I havent traded stuff in using that method for a while now as I tend to buy from play.com mostly now which cuts out the middle-man most of the time due to them being about £5 cheaper than Game... :indeed:

However, the last time I did trade in I managed to get both Resi 4 & Mario Power Tennis on day of release for the equivelant of about £30 or less (price inclusive of both titles) by trading in 8 really cheap PS2 games purchased moments before from a second-hand shop just down the road  when Game had their infamous "Get this game for a £1 (with any 4 game trade in)" deal, so the method can be quite effective. :D

Ha I went into town today to put my plan into action but the shop was closed so I bought some Golden Syrup instead (been having porridge for a while without it).

Aaaaaaaaaanyways upon going to the shopI realised it's called Cash Generator not Converter! Made me chuckle. I thought there was something a bit odd on Cash Converter.

I managed to get gran-tourismo 4 on launch day for less than £13, by buying 5 cheapo games at GAME and gamestation, then going to another GAME store, with my £1 and 5 second hand games, the offer was well worth it, the people in GAME knew what i had done, they still had the secong hand GAME stickers on. After i picked up gt4 the staff started removing the cheapo games while the offer was still on, to try and stop others doing the same.
