Daft Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Didn't want this to get lost in the Playstation 4 thread or the PS3 thread and decided it deserved to be posted in the general gaming board because it's a really interesting look at the industry over the past 25 years from two industry veterans, Mark Cerny and Shuhei Yoshida. It's a very entertaining interview. I'd love to know what everyone's thoughts are.
RedShell Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Only skimmed through it, but I very much agree with the part at the end of the vid, about how Japanese devs should continue to focus on what they do best, rather than try to create games specifically for the western market without proper understanding of the culture. Well made games targeted at the Japanese will indeed find an audience outside of Japan, so there's no need to change.
Rummy Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Threw it on in the background earlier so wasn't paying full full attention but it was amusing and interesting at the same time. I really do think Sony have learnt the most and are making the most progress in recent times - this is a fantastic look at the thinkings and workings behind that.
