Any recommendations on PC mice/gaming mice? I don't have an idea on budget really as I'm not sure how good a mouse can be and whether they're worth a hefty price tag, but I'd be interested in anything £20 up to say... £50. It's not for MMOs, so I don't need something with 10 numkeys built into it or anything.

My old budget option is packing in and I've got a Birthday coming up :D

I've heard good things about the Logitech MX 518 and Razer mice but I've never had more than a basic model before.

Well, same for me until now - but I figure there's a good reason some people spend good money on a mouse.

Nobody has one they recommend?

It seems the G400 is the successor to the MX518, having the same shape and a few internal improvements, but minus that unique soft grip. Since the MX518 is hard to get ahold of, (I see it on eBay but worry about fakes and lack of warranty etc), I might just go for that. I was tempted to get the Razer Deathadder with its hilariously unnecessarily high dpi but since the new model isn't available here yet, that's probably kept me from spending more money than I ought to.

Thanks for the feedback guys :) think I'll keep it simple and get the G400.

I think the Gigabyte is a bit on the low-budget end and the vengeance is a bit on the extreme-visual side :heh:

I'm going to saddle safely in the middle with a G500 (which I discovered as a bit better than the G400). Always liked logitech products in the past, too.

Have you got it yet? Does it work well? How does it feel in your hand?

My stock Dell mouse is dying (after 6 years), so it's time for a new one.

I've got it, yeah. The size and shape is perfect and you can customise the weight. The only thing odd about the 'feel' of it is a very rough texture on the darker part pictured above, but I've gotten used to that now.

The switch in the middle swaps the mousewheel from fast spinning to clicky-spinning which is cool, and the small buttons by default adjust the sensitivity to one of three steps. The middle click is nice, I've found other Logitech mice to be slightly too resistant there and require just a bit too much effort but this is fine.

It is quite big so you have to use it as a palm mouse, if you try to just grip it with your fingers it's not easy to right click.

Are the buttons on the side ok? I remember using a mouse with side buttons like that on a computer in the lab and I would always press the side buttons accidentally.
