Ah grrrr.... so dispite them having completed repair on my 3DS last Thursday you would think that it was sent back either that same day of the next.

As you can see in the previous post the next thing after it being repaired is "package returned" wait 3 - 7 days.

Figured it was already on it's way back to me.

Just got a text and email combo just now. It has been dispatched to me just today :heh:

Well I guess at least I now know for certain it is on the way back. Hopefully will get it by the end of this week. No tracking info on it though, slightly annoying that is.

YAY :yay:

My 3DS is BACK, wohoo.

Arrived back today via DHL, so that was pretty awesome (shame they didn't give me a free DHL label to send it to them, haha)

It is the very same console, so they didn't just pull a cheeky swap for new hardware. Of course means all my streetpass data is fine :D

Had a quick go on Marvel Pinball to test the R button, all seems fine again, woot.

Can't tell if they did anything to fix the power issue though. Guess just wait and see if it happens again. Did notice the date was wrong on it though when I got it back.

Was set to 5 Jan 2011... wonder if maybe the power issue happened while they had it or if maybe they changed the battery?

Few surprises too.

They gave me new screen protectors even though they didn't remove the ones I arleady had on it. So will store those away just in case :D

And there was a single Streetpass hit on it too :D

Yeah my 3DS on it's travels to repair managed to pick up a streetpass hit, haha.

According to the date on the notification it was on the 28th of September which was the day it was diagnosed and I paid for the repair.

So the guy who checks repair jobs must keep his own 3DS with him to pick up easy hits while at work.

The Mii's name was "bunnyrabit" :heh: and he from England :)

But the bastard didn't have any puzzle pieces for me...gggrrrr  haha

EDIT:

Ok weird, seems they changed more than the R button and battery

I had noticed I wasn't receiving any new letters to Letterbox but the signal icon thing said I was connected to the Internet.

Tried to go on the eShop but it said it couldn't connect.

So went to the internet settings to check things there, my connection set up was still there and nothing had changed, deleted it and set it up again manually anyway just in case.

Then when it did the connection test it showed it connected to the router fine but when it tried to go from the router to the net it threw up another error.

Scratched my head for a bit, hadn't changed any settings on my router while the 3DS was away, I was sure I set up the connection on the 3DS just fine.

Then I just decided to check the consoles MAC address and compared it to what I had on my MAC Address Filter on my router.

It was a different MAC...wtf?

They changed the WiFi adapter in the 3DS too?

Ah well least I figured it out. But that's odd don't ya think? A new Wireless NIC in the 3DS... they might aswell of just issued me a new system :heh:

Jacking this thread! Mine's finally come back, despite a dispute over my having to pay/not giving proof of purchase(which I did...sort of), but I e-mailed a PDF of it through to them and they've done it. Didn't realise they give another 12 months after the repair, which is nice as mine was coming up to the end of its one. I have no idea if they've rectified the problem, as I've not had much hands on with it yet. It's quite nice that they've cleaned/polished it up a bit; but a little less nice is the fact they have somehow(no idea how) managed to get a bit of dirt under the touch matrix but above the screen? Looks so anyhow. Going to be a bit of an annoyance for a while, but it's really just too minor for me to send it back again for. Don't wanna miss sticker star! Definitely the same DS they sent me back though(got a couple dings :()

Well good news that you have it back at least. Was it away for long?

Did yours have any StreetPass hits while it was away?

In the EU, all electronic products have a 2-year warranty.

I did not know this! How long has this been the case?

Not that I could tell. 2 folks it seemed when I got it back, one was a double hit off my mate's 3DS that I have in my possesion, another was just a person hit and I didn't know where it came from. Maybe it was in the repair center though. Probs was without it for...6 weeks maybe? Can't even remember when I sent it off lol, but it was additionally delayed by them pretending I hadn't sent my proof of purchase. Admittedly I packed and labelled it without, then realised and packed the packed package in another jiffy but with the PoP. That dirt speck is annoying, but glad to have it back in time for Sticker Star in a few months; my biggest anticipation gamewise in quite a while!
