Ryuk Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 So, I brought Medievil II Total war from steam the other day, and it was working great for about 20 minutes, I then decide to take a break and turn it off.. I then went to play it yesurday and it wont freaking load, I press the start button on the luncher and a blank screen will appear then crash to the desktop. I have tried re-installing it (took the piss to download from steam) with still no joy, I have also installed the latest freamework from microsoft, and installed DirectX 9c which came with the game. Any Suggestions will help please, apprently a lot of people are having problems with the steam version of the game. I have also tried contacting both support staff and they blame each other and say I should be talking to the other party.
flameboy Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 hmmm its a problem thats happened to me a couple of times with steam based games and yeah its hard to resolve matters like this as they blame each. I'm sorry but I've never managed to solve mine properly thank god it was on cheap games.
Cube Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Have you tried going into program files and launching the game .exe, bypassing the launcher? Also, what OS are you using?
Ryuk Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Yeah, I've tired the exe, was one of the first things i've tired.
Ramar Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 You could try right clicking the game > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache. Failing that you can trying uninstalling and re-installing.
Ryuk Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 I don't think its the wrong forum since a lot of people on here use steam... I have tired the catche thing and uninstalling re-installing... I seemed to have fixed it, not sure if It was the re-install of steam or the fact i'm using a no cd fixe (which basicly means I no longer need a cd or in my case steam to run it) so far so good .
