Cube Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I need a bit of help for work. We've got a new range at work and my boss wants the website page to be a black version of our main theme. The main problem...it's just black. Does anyone have any tips on how to make a black-themed website look good? Or any examples that I can look at?
Shorty Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) For starters, if you can get away with it, go for very very dark grey instead of perfect #000 black. As for examples, just google "css gallery", you get loads then. Or even... http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=great+looking+dark+websites Edit: Here's a great looking black website: http://abduzeedo.com/ Except it's not really "black", it's very dark grey Edited January 13, 2011 by Shorty
Cube Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Thanks - I'll have a look through those. Got some ideas from them already.
Ten10 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Here's another chap with a dark web design: http://www.sohtanaka.com/ An another guy here: http://www.komodomedia.com/
Cube Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 Thanks - I've got the majority of the basic design for the page done - it's just little details and then the main content. The "very dark grey" tip was great. I've used a few different ones for a "layered" look.
