Jon
Massive game coming up tonight, I hate to use the phrase 'must-win' by I don't like the chances of the Pens coming back from 3-0 down. Unfortunately I'll miss the first period as I've got football but judging by how the series has gone so far, the first period is no reflection on how the game finishes. Platty
GB lost their first game of the IIHF championships to Slovenia 3-2. Shields and Peacock with the goals for GB. If they can somehow win gold in their group they get promoted out of Division 1 to play with the big boys such as USA and Canada next year in the Championship league. Just missed out last time and got Silver if I remember. Probably won't be able to do it now starting with a loss. We'll see. Shame this clashes with the Playoffs as the American and Canadian teams don't usually let a lot of their good players go....

It's the players themselves that decide wether they want to go or not, besides the majority of the good players are involved in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Only the players on teams that didn't qualify for the postseason are asked. That said because this years World Champs decide the seeding for the next Olympics, Canada will have one of it's strongest lineups in recent years, with Olympic Gold medalists from Vancouver in Perry and Getzlaf. Jon
3-0 down it is... What do you reckon? Playoffs over now? If any team could overturn it, it's the Penguins. I don't like the their chances though, it's like they've completely forgotten how to play defence. It's not the same team that won 50 regular season games. They need to keep away from penalty trouble, it's clearly costing them big and yet they're still engaging in needless trouble. Emotions do run high but they need to stay cool. It goes without saying they need to win the next game but if they could, I see them turning it around. Just need to snap this bad run.
Murr
Lundqvist in exceptional form last night for the Rangers. back in the driving seat now. LA Kings are playing like a different team now.
Jon
Pens vs Flyers has to be the strangest playoff series on record. Game 4 has just finished the 2nd period and it's 9-3 to the Penguins. I've never seen anything quite like it.

I've never seen anything quite like it. 10-3 finish. Game back on then? Rangers... 2-0 in first period, concede 2 in second period, goalless third period. Lose in overtime. fuuuuck... series tied 2-2 Vancouver woke up a bit and got a win against the Kings at last. And Detroit lose again. Playoffs pretty unpredictable so far. Hope Rangers don't blow it:nono: Top the conference then go out at the first hurdle.
Jon
It's very much got to be a 'one game at a time scenario'. Although he wasn't great in the first period, Fleury looked like he was finding his game towards the end, both Philly net minders look hopeless. Need the big guys like Crosby and Malkin to continue dominating if we're stand a chance. At least it wasn't a sweep
Platty
Team GB survived relegation today by pulling off a 5-4 win over Hungary. Managed to find a stream online and watch it. Was a great match with the first 2 periods GB coming back to tie them ending 1st 2-2 and 2nd 4-4. GB needed the win to stay up in Division 1A and they have done it! Good work chaps. Dowd was a star always. Hope he stays at Belfast next season but I'm sure he will get snapped up by one of the top european teams or perhaps even the AHL. We need to push GB hockey in this country and the EIHL to be honest. I reckon there are a lot of fans out there and it just does not get the exposure it deserves in the UK. It will never rival Football but it could get really big if the money and media exposure was there I feel.
Jon
And the Penguins are golfing. Very disappointed, never really performed when it came down to it. I'm sure we'll see some changes in the defence come free agency, Martin and Michalek were awful.
Murr
Well NHL finally started again on the weekend. Stayed up to watch the Bruins v Rangers. Wish I hadn't though, And waking up this morning to hear we'd lost to the Penguins wasn't particularly a highlight. However Lundqvist's save in the Bruins game was pretty epic.. Jon
Stayed up to watch the Pens last night, another good victory against a good side in their years. There's definitely not a team better set up to go the distance than Pittsburgh, obviously doesn't mean a thing but when you've got the two best players in the game, it certainly helps. Ramar
Ducks started with a cracking win over Vancouver, which means we'll lose to Calgary tonight. I was going to pay for Gamecenter but I've still not forgiven them for their greediness.
Platty
Glad it is finally back. I thought this season was done for to be honest. In other news, anyone going to the Elite League playoffs in Nottingham this year? Weekend 6/7 April? I'm going and will be in the Belfast Giants end even if they don't make it to the finals. Jon
Gamecenter is a lot worse than last year since blackout rules apply over here now due to Premier Sports deal, so quite a few games aren't available on Gamecenter.

That's me not getting it then. Can't believe they sold the rights to such a shit channel for 4 years.
Platty
The highlights you get on GameCenter as non-subscriber are pretty good. Was watching quite a lot last night and got myself right up to date. Android app too. As much as I love the Belfast Giants and the British Elite League, the quality in the NHL is so far ahead it's unreal. Love it.
Ramar
Ducks smashed the Kings. Happy days. We've started the season unusually well, Bruce Boudreau has got them playing well. Just need to tidy up some of our defending.
