Ash Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 My Laptop will not play any videos, it plays the sound, but when i get the video screen up nothing is showing, its the same problem for each bit of software, WINAMP, Media Player, Quicktime, Acer Arcade, and the Creative media studio, it treats all the videos like MP3's as i do get the sound. Does any one know why this is happening
gaggle64 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 What sort of video files are we talking about here?
gaggle64 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Are you sure all your video drivers are up to date?
Ash Posted December 5, 2005 Author Posted December 5, 2005 Yep i think so i have a ATI Mobility Radeon x700 graphics card btw
gaggle64 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 What about multi-media drivers like Direct X9?
Guest Jordan Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Gaggle, drivers have nothing to do with codecs or playing videos. You need DivX and XviD codecs, my suggestion is the Kazaa Lite codec pack, one of the only good things to come from Kazaa. It *might* be in the essential prog's thread otherwise just google it.
Mr_Odwin Posted December 6, 2005 Posted December 6, 2005 Or for a more up to date version, go here. Get the mega codec pack and life will be easier in general.
