BigTac Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 http://www.revolutionreport.com/index.php?act=articles&code=read&id=206 During the Digital Interactive Entertainment Conference held today in Japan, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, Konami's Hideo Kojima and Robin Walker of Valve had a small roundtable discussion with the Nintendo Revolution controller garnering some attention. Miyamoto was first to comment on the idealogy behind the design of the Revolution's controller. "People's idea that video games were American grade school kids with their face pressed up against the TV made us want to design the new controller," Miyamoto said. "Boring things will become interesting. But, I can't say any more." Following, the question of "what kind of game would you like to design for the Revolution?" was addressed to Valve's Robin Walker, to which he responded, "There's a couple I could think of, but I'm not really sure, because I haven't seen the console." Hideo Kojima was then presented with the same question, but Miyamoto quickly provided an answer of his own, saying, "He’d like to design a game that makes him popular with girls." Kojima laughed and responded to the posed question, stating, "I haven't decided." Miyamoto quickly admitted that his comment was a joke and asked Kojima, "What would you really like to design?" As before, the Metal Gear creator simply responded with "I can’t really say," still laughing. Stay tuned to Revolution Report for more developer commentary, witty or otherwise. When I heard about the the little convo between Kojima and Miyamoto I just laughed. Obviously they must really have a good relationship. Oh by the way the rumors about Kojima working on a classic Nintendo franchise(Kid Icarus) still hasn't been eleiminated. But believe me Kojima has decided on what he is doing. BigTac Posted December 4, 2005 Author Posted December 4, 2005 http://search.ign.com/find/find Note Ign has 20 games for Revolution develpment including 2 mysterious titles called "Avalon" and "Psychopath". I am very surprised that they're list doesn't contain at least 10 more projects. Also has dragon_feces posted on here other than the time he post on my topic on titles in development for Revolution launch. He said he was a NoA game tester I sent him an private message but he hasn't said anything back. Once again on the topic about graphics/power Revolution is weaker then PS3 and 360 by a good bit. Spec wise Revolution can not compete. But I have talked with 2 3rd party developers and they both basically told me that Nintendo fans shouldn't worry too much. People who are worrying about whether ports will be on Revolution don't worry. Whether Revolution will have great exclusive titles don't worry.

Do you mean in a gamcube fashion it doesnt compete, or are we talking the expected way?? lol your comment can be interpretted in a few different ways would you be able to elaborate? I dont know why people worry about ports, im mean the DS gets ports of current gen titles or at least its own version so why worry about ports because of graphics or the controller??
quich_delvyn Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 whatever kojima is workinh on it will be good. it will be interesting if he works on kid icarus
Shenlong Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 It worries me some people still haven't seen the console, aren't they meant to launch next summer? unless its one massive web of deceit. Man if they're only unveiling in May there best be some complete games on show or that launch will seem even less likely then ever.
Hellfire Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 They haven't seen the console, but that doesn't mean they don't have the alpha kits and they already have GC kits anyway, so it's no biggie I suppose.
DCK Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I don't think Valve would be a studio with priority to see the Revolution considering their lack of support for Nintendo since they exist. It's a shame though, because Valve mentioned back in 2004 that it was interested in porting Half-Life 2 to the next-gen consoles. Nintendo should present the Revolution well to Epic as well, the Unreal Engine 3 is very important.
