OK, so I just got some new components for my PC, however when I put it all together and switch it on nothing happens.

Everything in the PC has been used before and works, apart from the processor and the motherboard. The reason I think it's the motherboard is because when I boot it up there's no BIOS beeps. Usually if there's a hardware failure or no keyboard, etc it'll beep to tell you somethings wrong.

Does anyone know of a way I can test it (other than trying the processor in another motherboard - I don't have another one with the same socket)? I've tried changing the battery and clearing the CMOS but it doesn't make any difference.

I'd rather not go through the hassle of sending it back, it arrived 3 days late in the first place, don't wanna spend another week getting it replaced!

Need more info. Does the computer activate all all. ie. fans starting up, hdd spinning. If not might need to start issue tracking from the psu, as it may not meet new power requirements.

I've generally always started with checking RAM, making sure it's fully inserted and if need be trying to boot with each stick separately. Like Ten10 said though, more info would be helpful.

Got it sorted now guys, turns out the RAM needed to be in the sockets farthest from the CPU, every other board I've used has been the other way round!

Not that it mentions this in the manual of course
