Menkor
Lets see if I got this right...People are very happy with the Wii edition of RE4, and it only had added motion controls and the extras from the PS2 version... Now suddenly, when there is a rumour about a remake of RE2, people scream and are saying that it is a quick-cash in by Capcom, but they were still extremely pleased with RE4 Wii edition... Can anyone tell me what I have missed?
DCK
To be honest, nobody was really that excited about RE4. It's the definitive version of a classic game, nobody is going to complain about that. Not that it wasn't a cash-in though. Personally, I don't prefer a new RE over RE2make as I haven't played the original. A new RE would show more that Capcom is seeing the Wii as serious business, however.
Zechs Merquise
Prepare to be disappointed, mister... Ever the optimist! Well, if the game is a re-make as has been speculated, it would be great. If it's a cheap cash in which is more port than remake then I'll be a the first to say so! I don;t think that many people were 'hyped' for the RE4 Wii edition. But it is the definitive edition with all the graphical bells and whistols with added PS2 content and IR aiming if you want it. Plus I like the fact you can choose classic or IR control, depedning on your mood! It did sell well too, 1.4 million copies for a game released twice before ain't bad going! ...
[RE4 Wii is] the definitive version of a classic game, nobody is going to complain about that. Yeah, but I think Menkor's point was that RE4 is a 3 year old classic, whereas RE2 is a 10 year old classic. I don't own RE4 Wii because I own it on GC since 2005. To be honest, it didn't need to be ported on to Wii, more so because you can play the GC version on the Wii, all you need is a GC controller. Now RE2 is a game I want remade ever since I played REmake on the GC, which still is one of the best games on GC and is better than RE4, IMHO.
