Charlie
I was browsing a flatrenting site earlier when AVG popped up with 3 warnings about a virus, I moved them all to the virus vault and thought nothing more off it... Then I minimised Opera for a second and my desktop was just completely white (icons still there). So I right clicked, went to personalise and the option to change the desktop background wasn't even there. I can change the background by the usual route on an internet browser though (right clicking and click on set as desktop).... Restarted the computer after that because it started going really slowly and it was still blank when I started it up. Full virus scanning on AVG now and thus far it hasn't shown up anything, going to use CCleaner afterwards and if that doesn't work I'll try a system restore. Does anyone else have any ideas? Running Vista and never had any problems before...
nightwolf
I believe I had the same at once point, never really thought anything of it, by then I'd changed to a laptop, all I can suggest is another scanner to see if there is still anything around, then do a system restore. I can't honestly think of what it could be except avg missing it because once avg catches something that tends to be the end of it.
Charlie
AVG picked up a few things from the full scan, fixed all of them then restored and everything seems to be fine and dandy now.

Nope, didn't accept anything like that at all. Just went onto a seemingly decent website (it was a flat rental site) and AVG popped up with loads of warnings.
