Chris the great Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 hey, i was going to post this in the "how was your day" thread but i've waited to long, and to be honest, its only just started feeling weird now. I'm guessing most of you have seen on the news about the chinese couple who were beat to death in a flat in newcastle? its been a fairly big news story. the woman of the couple was last seen alive leaving her job in waggamamma in newcastle. she returned to the flat and was beaten to death. i was in newcastle that day, i ate at waggamamma, and she served me. its odd to think the last hours of her life involved bringing me a bowl of noodles. i remember at the time thinking she was a little rude, didnt really smile at us, or make eye contact, just did her job. maybe it was because she was nervious about her situation at home, or maybe she was just tierd, the place was busy and lets face it, who gets excited about serving a 21 year old, bearded, unemployed guy and his mother? it wasnt untill friday when i saw picture of her in the paper that i realised. i asked my mam and she recognised her too. i was just telling a friend about it, and made a joke about how the tip was a waste that it suddenly dawned on me that the girl who had served me was now dead, and had died in a horrible way. i felt like an arsehole (seems to be a theam over the past few weeks). what do i know about her? she had a boyfriend who died, she worked in a restraunt and she had a cat (which also died in the attack). ive always been a fan of the morbid jokes, and find the more offencive a joke, the more it makes me laugh, but even when its so tenious a link as that, it just seems so dissrespectfull. its hard to belive that just a few hours after she was serving me, she was being beat to death, in pain, terrified, and helpless.
Chris the great Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Who did it? tehy dunno yet, but the couple are linked to gambling, false visas/passports and even the chinese mafia.
