darkjak Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 What consoles would you like to se re released with a few tweaks? What consoles HAVE been re released with a few tweaks? My thoughts: Dreamcast: A smaller Dreamcast of the same shape and size as the Wii, only with a few more slots in the back (I'll get to what they do later). The controllers are slimmer, the D-pad is bigger and flatter, the buttons are bigger and more ergonomic, and so are the shoulder buttons. Vibration and VMU-screen are built in. The controller is wireless and has rechargable batteries. The console can play play DVD's, CD's and MP3, WMA and so on. AND it can play radio, and it's got a built in screen. Why? Well, here's the thing: while the console can be used as a regular Dreamcast, the smaller size and extra sockets are for one and only one reason: to also be able to place it in a car and use for a car multimediacenter. : peace: Nintendo 64: A smaller N64 with upgraded hardware, making all games for the format run at least at a solid 30 fps, and if possible, overruns the games software, and forces the games to run in HD. The controllers are cordless, have built in rumble, rechargable batteries and an analogue stick that doesent turn into gunk after a few years. Gamecube: A portable console the size of the DS, with buttons on the bottom part, and a widescreen on the top (virtually all GC games had an option to swap screen ratio). It's not my idea from the start, I saw this picture way back and was struck on how great of an idea it was: It makes sense. The discs are smal, so are the memorycards, and the console was fairly compact in 2001, imagine it in the year of let's say 2010. The GC was also very power efficient (50w if I remember right), and with future technology, and actual attempts to bring down the power consumption, it would be easy to give it GC batterylife
Jimjebus Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I would say the ps2 but psp is close to it , aswell as N64 but thats a ds abit , But i think sega should re-Ultra-AMP the Dreamcast and make it something amazing or portable
D_prOdigy Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Game and Watch. Make it happen Saint Gunpei of above!
Fresh Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 You could just release the games on WiiWare/PSN/Xbox Marketplace.
darkjak Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 You could just release the games on WiiWare/PSN/Xbox Marketplace. I personally wouldn't buy a 360 to get to play Perfect Dark with a functioning controller and solid gameplay. And releasing DC games for VC won't make them playable in my car.
mr_bogus Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Apparently there's another, smaller, lower power PS2 coming out soon. darkjak that gamecube mock-up makes me all wet. In the good way.

Only if Nintendo launch a DS that plugs into the TV will that be good. Why are you whyning about an idea that improves games you allready own?
Emasher Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I wouldn't mind a re-released SNES with some games built in, but Nintendo would never do that with the VC now.
blender Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 it seems the trend for consoles to be relaunched as portables. just a matter of time. The psp prooves that a portable gamecube and dreamcast could be available NOW

Why are you whyning about an idea that improves games you allready own? .... whining, not "whyning". And I'm not "whyning" I'm just saying it would be easier to port games than reproduce a whole new console. Especially with all the DLC that is available now.
