Well now that I've bought a new pc I will be needing a monitor. I've set aside a budget of £125. These are the ones I've found so far.

Going down in budget:

Best: £160 -Samsung SyncMaster SM206BW - I'm typing this on its predecessor. Samsungs own.

Good: £140 - LG L204WT - My brother has the 19" version. It's a great monitor, but the Samsung definetely beats it.

Fitting to budget:£125 - Acer X201W - Don't know much about it, but it seems to have the best stats within budget. It has 1680x1050 resolution, and a reasonable response time. It doesn't have DVI though.

If you have a (CRT?) monitor now, you might want to put up with it for a while and save up for the Samsung. It's not incredibly much more money, and a good monitor like this'll outlive your PC and be useful and gorgeous for several years.

My Samsung 19+ Monitor/TV came today and it was gorgeous, of course since it was me I found that there was a chip in the screen so it is now wrapped up in its box. So yeah its pretty annoying but I think that happened because of delivery and it definitely looked awesome.

My previous two monitors have been LG's though and they have also been exceptional so you can't go wrong with either of the brands.

This is probably the best for that money: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=522896

A little bit over, but you're getting a good quality screen. 20" is out of you're budget, resolution and screen size matter less than good colour reproduction and handling of moving images. Cheap monitors tend to be crappy in those areas.

This one caught my eye: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135767

Couldn't tell you if it's any good, but HP tend to make good screens. Info on the net seems scarce so it's probably new. After cashback it should be a cracking bargain! (£108.80)
