ReZourceman Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Ok then, now that weve finished poking the Paj to get a reaction ive got another stolen topic for us. Happenstance Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Im suprised youve got Wolf-Man so high, I knew you liked it but I didnt realise it was more than say TWD or Chew.
ReZourceman Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Im suprised youve got Wolf-Man so high, I knew you liked it but I didnt realise it was more than say TWD or Chew. Yeah I absolutely love the thing. I really like the artwork, I really love the characters, and its *reasonably* original. And of course I have some artwork so I'm biased. :p
Paj! Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Hmm. In no particular order (though I prefer some to others obvs) New X-Men (Retitled "X-Men" - issues 114 - 156) Astonishing X-Men (1-24 + Giant-Size) All-Star Superman Grant Morrison's Batman run (spanning a zillion titles/years) Seven Soldiers Of Victory The Walking Dead Invincible EDIT: Ultimate Spider-Man too (with obligatory shoving Frank Quitely into the equation) Among other stunners. Edited December 13, 2010 by Paj!
ReZourceman Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Actually you're both right, Astonishing definitely needs to be in there. Feel like a prick now.
Paj! Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Oh I'll add Ultimate Spidey! That's so stun too. I knew I was missing one.
ReZourceman Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 New round of teasers from Marvel. Surely 616 right? (Edit; Yeah Spider-Woman in the video) wonder wtf it is.
Paj! Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 From the image, it could be a stunning thing where the heroes actually deal with real world crises.
Happenstance Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I think i'll wait for more info before I make any real comments on those
Happenstance Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Gosh, whats Magneto doing dying his hair brown and wearing one of Cyclops' visors???
Paj! Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 ...anyway. I'm glad they're adressing the fact Cyclops has become more militaristic/rash/organising kill squads/putting children in danger etc. The fans have noticed it for ages.
Happenstance Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I still want them to try and direct it back to the older style X-Men, going off on adventures or missions. I'll admit there have been some good moments in this new direction but overall im just not that interested in reading about the entire mutant race living together and as you say, becoming more militaristic.
Paj! Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I agree. As an idea I suppose it's interesting and it "makes sense", but I'm so bored of not having a core cast. It's cool having so many B-listers and C-listers, but yeah. That's why I love Astonishing (especially Xenogenesis), as it's actually a team of X-Men, not a society of them.
ReZourceman Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Next week; IMAGE WEEK! Dynamo 5 Christmas Chew Haunt Morning Glories Skullkickers And on top of all that. GLC GL Larfleeze Christmas And Marvel stuff blah blah.
gmac Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 thought I'd give my top tens, but as my reading has been limited to mainly new comics from the last 2 years I'll probably miss a few in no particular order: Astonishing X-Men Brubaker's Captain America Johns' Green Lantern Chew The Walking Dead Invincible Savage Dragon 52 Planetary Secret Six with honourable mentions to DMZ, JMS Thor, Y: the Last Man and the Unwritten
ReZourceman Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 8) Savage Dragon Savage Dragon *SD Five*
Happenstance Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 For ReZ as he's been looking forward to the new costumes:
ReZourceman Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 OMG. Thats so badass. I want Slott's fucking babies. Also I quite like that artist, he did well on the Shocker arc.
Paj! Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thats not John Romita Jr.? The anatomy looks just like his Spidey...
