sponegg Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 hello all, i'm english so i don't speak a word of french or flemish. I'd like to purchase a wii system but have noticed that some versions here are french, some are for the netherlands. i was hoping that the games/system available here also support english language can anyone confirm this? is there a situation that the french doesn't support english, but the netherlands version does etc? If anyone also knows the best place to get one i.e the struggling small-scale gamer owned shop rather than a huge department store, that would also be ideal. thanks in advance to any posters.
Shorty Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 The European Wii is multi-lingual, you just have to change the language settings to English. Where to get one, however - I have no clue. Sorry.
gaggle64 Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Word is a shipment of Wii's for here in the Uk within the next couple of days, so I imagine a fresh shipment for the rest of Europe can't be too far off either.
Jasper Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 The problem is: Nintendo is sold-out in most of Belgium stores, too. There's no difference whatsoever. Really, none. The instructions are in every language, the VIP-card and the system is. So no hassle there: there are no different version of Wii in Europe.
DCK Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 The Dutch system switches to UK perfectly well. The French will most likely do the same. All European Wiis (and Aussie/NZ Wiis for that matter) are identical.
AeroScap Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Ok here is the lowdown Wii bought from: UK (compatible plug, and formats) (duh) Australia (compatible plug and formats) EU (non compatible 2 prong plug, compatible formats) It could be as simple as buying a 1.99 converter BUT would you put 180 quid down to a 2 quid converter?
