Fresh Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 *Mods feel free to move to where they see fit* I'm looking at buying a new computer and i stumbled across this site: http://www.arbico.co.uk/ They are offering just what i want at a nice price however i cant find any reviews of it anywhere. Just wondering if any of you lot have used it/know people who have used the site. Cheers!
Shorty Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I've never heard of them so I can't really help but... if you can find the same price on pcspecialist.co.uk - I can recommend them personally. Not a speedy delivery but a great system at a great price.
Caris Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Fresh BELIEVE. http://www.apple.com/uk/thestore
Shorty Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Seriously, that posting about macs in every thread is getting really annoying, it's not useful to anyone. What if he wants a competent, feature filled system with the possibility of future upgrade, decent tech support, full compatibility and a full choice of games with powerful video hardware to run them? Well then, he's not going to find that in a mac.
Bogbas Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Shorty pretty much said everything but I just did a quick comparison from apple store and dabs.com Basically: iMac: 868£ Similar pc from components on dabs.com: 779£ (could probably be under 750£ with minor changes to the setup) So is it fair to pay ~100£ for the apple logo? The world would be a better place without mac/linux/windows zealots...
Fresh Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 That pcspecialist.co.uk looks great, ill save up a bit more cash then i will go for that. Cheers!

Well then, he's not going to find that in a mac. That's hardly fair. Mac's can do all those things bar the upgradeability which is actually getting better.

Shorty Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 ^ shit its better than mine. You might want to get some memory card and firewire ports though. Otherwise I'd say go for it.
Bogbas Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Actually you probably should wait a bit longer. Intel is updating thh E6300 and E6400 models in the second quarter of 2007. The new chips have 2Mb more cache and are called E6320 and E6420. The pricing won't change so the E6430 will cost the same amount of money as E6400 does now. And those high speed memories are only needed if you plan to overclock.

And, knowing myself, if i had to keep this money any longer i would end up spending it some somthing crazy. Im surprised ive managed to save up £1000. Reguarding the firewire/memory card stuff im not goging to get those yet, may when i need them.
