DiemetriX Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 WII: Total 2.00m Japan 0.63m USA 0.96m Europe 0.43m 360: Total 6.39m Japan 0.24m USA 4.35m Europe 1.8m PS3: Total 0.64m Japan 0.28m USA 0.36m Europe 0.00 The Wii has achieved a great feat today by obtaining a sales figure of two million consoles worldwide. We already know that Europe bought 325,000 Wii units in just two days making it the fastest selling console in European gaming history, but when you add this together with the 630,000 consoles sold in Japan and 960,000 from the Americas, plus a little extra from smaller territories across the world, it adds up to 2 million+ consoles sold worldwide. With Christmas just around the corner and everyone running around singing, "Tis the season to be jolly" owning a Wii and the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will probably make you almost as happy as the folks back at the Nintendo office right now. The only thing we could ask for right about now isthe confirmation of an Alien RPG title for the Wii - wouldn't that just be amazing! We'd just like to remind you not to read into these figures too much as the PS3 hasn't been released yet in Europe and other territories, so we cannot comment on how those sales will go. Have a Merry next-gen Christmas! Source: http://www.vgcharts.org/ngwars.php?topic=1 Not sure how accurate this news is though.
Yoochem Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Poor Xbox 360, the PS3 sold more units in a month than the 360 did in a year (in Japan, that is). But still, 2 million+ Wii's in less than a week is impressive. And I'm sure that there wil be many people who still want a Wii but couldn't get one (me included hehe). Ofcourse the same counts for the PS3, but it seems like Nintendo is doing a better job at supplying their customers
James McGeachie Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I dont think this is accurate, I dont think they've shipped 2 million yet
fanman Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 They have most probably shipped at least that many, and most probably sold that many too. Sounds accurate enough.
James McGeachie Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Err yeah right, if they'd shipped that many it wouldn't be damn near impossible to find one.
Heaven Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 WTF? its official tha MS has sold over 8 million by now

david.dakota Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Don't Nintendo wish to sell 4million units by the end of the year. I'm not sure if thats Financial Year (April) or Calendar Year. If its Calendar Year then Nintendo will need to have shipped 4 million by this coming weekend.
Tellyn Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 WTF? its official tha MS has sold over 8 million by now Isn't that shipped figures? EDIT: The figures don't include other regions, just Japan, US and UK.
raven_blade2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I think 2 million may well have been sold by now. Its been out long enough worldwide for this to happen.
KKOB Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 2 million puts them on track for the 4 million world wide by the end of the calendar year and 6 million before the end of the fiscal year (March) as long as they can get the consoles in stores that is . . .
