It most defiantly is when the President and COO of Nintendo of America said friend codes would not be a thing on the Switch. Why did he say that. There is no defense possible once the president of the company says one thing and then the company do something different. With the the Wii U Reggie claimed third party games at launch would look and perform best on the wii u. Does this guy never get tired of lying?

It's telling that Nintendo didn't announce this friend code BS. Bump into a random at work who tells me has switch. Yo add me, gamertag kickazz1 or add me 245887.......er I forgot. I know what I prefer. Also we don't even know yet if only one friend code is needed. It could well be both users have to exchange codes.

This is the most laughable aspect. They know people disliked them with the 3DS yet somehow that has been completely ignored. If both users have to send friend requests via friend codes like before then boy there is going to be a Internet shit storm. I wouldn't be surprised though if it ends up being this way though as it's Nintendo and they don't care.

I fear for the paid service now. This just an example of an outdated idea and who knows what other madness they will produce. Friend codes, a VC game for a month, a phone requirement to chat with friends etc etc. They just don't get and never will.

Welcome to paid online. A new service where adding friends even becomes a chore. I just dont get it with this company at times. They create such greatness and then can make a ridiculous decision like friend codes. Nobody asked for this. We wanted more ways to add friends which they have given us but the most important one uses friend codes. Bizarre isn't the word.

Not the only way but it's still a pain. I don't memorize a 12 digit number but can easily give people my gamertag. Do we know yet if one adds a friend via friend code they get a notification and can accept without having to reciprocate?

Doesn't look like it. You can't search by Nintendo id. What's the point of Nintendo ID. You create a name but the ID can't be searched with. Sounds backwards to me.

I know but like it or not it's still underpowered in the sense its likely not going to be handle graphic intense games seen on those systems. Some people are getting this to use a home console (handheld for me) and it's significantly weaker than the competition. Can anyone tell me what the Bluetooth 4.1 is for if Bluetooth headphones don't work? What is the Bluetooth connectivity for? This day 1 patch better fix this joycon issue. Too many reviews have had the problem and the in particular the left one. You want people to return a product that joy con issue is the perfect reason for it.
