  2. Riddles

I enjoy those books you get at christmas with all the stupid questions. Here's a riddle - don't cheat! We sound like Eden as a pair, Make us weight, we won't play fair Sometimes consensus, most times schism Usually locked away in prism If by chance you seek, then throw- The serpent sees where we meet low We carry freight when we meet high But separate us and we die ... Plz give answers in spoilers, and feel free to share any riddles you know!
  3. Shrinkflation

This is how they sneak the shrink in! new flavours! don't trust the lies!
  4. Shrinkflation

I just bought (and ate) an all-day breakfast sandwich from Sainsbury's, and it made me unconsolably mad. Thoughts; - The bread was thinner - The bread was smaller - The sausage was smaller - There was one less sausage - The price was 25% more than last year when I bought one I assume we have all seen this sort of thing in one way or another for a while now. Domino's Pizza slowly removing one pepperoni per slice over the years is another one that springs to mind. Of course, the toblerone fiasco was national news - but are there any examples that have directly impacted your quality of life, as this sandwich has done to mine?
  5. "Podcasts" you watch?

I expect a lot of Trash Taste in here, but I am interested to see what recs you might have. I know most people prefer the audio experience but I have space for the visual aspect, so I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for frequent pods to watch? plz no joe rogan. I like H3, if that's a metric you need.
  6. "Podcasts" you watch?

ok fame-boy, what's the pod even about? (yeahyouarerightwedidagreeonmostthingsreallyIdontknowwhyIsaidthat)
  7. Lego!

I get what you are saying, but my starting point really is build time per quid spent. Most lego sets I've seen are pretty awesome end-point-wise, so I'm just hankering for a long time, not a good time, y'get me?
  8. Lego!

I've recently had a real inkling for doing some lego. I've done a bunch of papercraft and puzz3D over the years, but nothing really hits like lego. However, the pricing for lego is, generally, fucking incredibly extortionate. Can anyone recommend a set that is good value for money in terms of build-time? Or is that a stupid question..?
  9. "Podcasts" you watch?

Is maddox still edgy by today's standards? Also, is there an episode you would recommend as a good taster? If I like it I will end up starting from thhe beginning and watching it all. (IalsothinkthatIcannotpossiblyagreewithyouonanythingsoIaminterestedtoseehowthisgoes)
  10. "Podcasts" you watch?

I think that's fair - long(ish) form youtube videos that come out regularly meets the ask. I think Sean is a great interviewer, but I have to admit it depends on the guest 100% of the time as to whether or not I will watch it
  11. bad stuff thread.

@bobI don't even know what tapatalk is but I am already writing the picket signs
  12. Suggestions

hi friendly suggestion - lock all of the big bundled-up threads so that I can participate in the individual interesting topics and not feel like a dick for ignoring the other posts
  13. Balatro (PS, Xbox, Switch, Steam)

I've only won with two decks, I have no idea what I am doing but I keep playing. The music has been associated with sadness in my mind now though. Any suggestions for a good soundtrack to play along with?

  15. PC Gaming Discussion

How did it go? I'm contemplating Starfield but I still have Cyberpunk 2077 in the back pocket
  16. Your 2024 Gaming Diary

Recently got through Horizon: Forbidden West as I was hankering for an openworld game. Problem is that after playing Elden Ring the 'joy' of exploring a map only to find shitty shit is really... Shit. This game suffers with overdosing on weapon selections and endless upgrading of all of the gear you accumulate. I basically stuck with "freeze 'em, then shoot wit big damage bow" plan the entire way through. Same as the first game, I felt strung out dealing with all of the generic fights going from A to B, especially because my ADHD brain said I had to engage every time, and using any form of travelling faster was a cheat. Sure, dealing with the big bads it's sensible to use the right rock/paper/scissors ammo-type approach, but in general just douse them with the swampy soup water then freeze and bang and you're good. Story-wise I really appreciated how they dealt with the tutorial section, and how they built up your family. Of course, playing it on steam years after original release means I am comparing it unfairly to other games, but honestly I think gameplay-wise this is on the same level as Mad Max when that first came out. Most recently, though, I am replaying through Nier Automata. The soundtrack alone puts the game amongst my favourites of all time. The unrolling story is a wild ride. An utter tapas of a game with so many moments to savour - and I haven't even (re-)finished the C/D endings yet!
  17. @Cube its so weird, I was looking at N64 bundles on ebay and every single one had Mission Impossible included. Obv when it came out it had unfavourable reviews in comparison to Goldeneye, but I loved the train station level where people pulled out coffee from their suit jacket inner pocket as if it was a gunl Also it wasn't developed by nintendo btw.

Nearly 2 more years, still here, aww yisssss
  19. bad stuff thread.

i love the juxtaposition of cancer, severe anxiety, and a graphics card in this thread.
  20. Share your favourite comedy specials

John Delaney's specials (aside from his most recent) are great. Bo Burnham (duh) , and echoing Bob's sentiment about Ricky Gervais, his specials are pretty solid despite what the man stands for these days
  21. General Movie Thread

last night I watched Forrest Gump for the first time in probably 20 years. I genuinely thought it was a spielberg movie before. I googled but could not find people agreeing with my theory; jenny is forrest's brother/cousin.

  23. What, like any of these points actually count anyway?
  24. Your Gaming Diary 2022

lol 100% the same. I'm sad they've dismissed the idea of having a story mode and instead are sticking to purely arcade content -- but I love booting the game up once a month for a few hours!
