Sheamus is unlikely to gain much of a ratings/PPV/Network boost, so in that sense it's not a safe option. A safer option would have been to put the belt on someone whos actually been in and around the main events of late, such as Reigns, Bray, Ambrose or Owens, or rush back Orton, Cena, or Brock. I couldn't care less if Reigns is carried or not, what difference does it make? A good match is a good match, and in order for it to be a guy like Reigns still has to be carry their end. I thought Reigns match with Brock was fantastic, and Brock is hardly Ric Flair able to carry the proverbial broom. I don't get the being pushed down people's throats thing either. People do like and cheer for Reigns, that's a fact, a vocal portion of the fans don't and that's fine, it's simply not actuate for people to say 'the fans' don't like him. you only have ot look at his entrace and you can see the love he gets, he is generally well liked. In fact he's always been fine as long as he isn't pushed in the title picture, then peopel spit their dummy out, WWE must be utterly confused, he gets cheered in the midcard, so they push up him which is what you do with someone like that and then a portion of the fans turn on him. If people booed him from the start then WWE would have no reason to 'ram him down people's throats'. People say they don't mind Reigns but he's 'not ready', how is somebody not being 'ready' the fan's concern? It's like being a Leicester fan and booing them because they're having too much success too soon and they're 'not ready' to complete in the Champions League. Who cares? You either like something or someone or you don't. With Ambrose yes they could have pulled the trigger, but at those opportunities you have to consider who they did have at the top of the card, in order to put Ambrose up there you've also got to say who comes down. That's one of things that annoyed me (amonst other things) about Foley's recent rant on Facebook, he said WWE should have pushed Cesaro, Ziggler and Owens, but didn't say who WWE shouldn't have pushed to make that happen. Would Foley have the balls to look Sheamus and Reigns in the eye and tell them they don't deserve the spots they're in? Because that is effectively what he said. Everyone says push this guy, push that guy, like it's that simple, the reality is you can't push everyone at the same time and for every step up for somebody there is a step down for someone else. Additionally people never consider whether a person can handle the responsibility of being a top star or how realiable they are, are they always late, are they injury prone etc.

Didn't see Survivor Series, but i'm fine with what they did with the world title. I don't think Sheamus is anyone's ideal champion but they had to cash in his MITB at some point and now with so many stars missing it was probably the best time to do it, the big creative push with the big stars will probably begin with the Royal Rumble leading to Wrestlemania. for all the talk of WWE doing the safe option I think putting the belt on Sheamus of all people is anything but. "Anyone but Reigns" people said, this is what you get, be careful what you wish for. I've no problem with Reigns myself, nor do I really get the hate he gets from some people. His match with Cesaro the other week on Raw was fantastic, shame Cesaro is injured also.

^ Nice one, sounded like he was headed to snap city with a rounded back at that weight. Anybody else watch the Weighliftng World Championship on Eurosport? Probably at bit late to mention it really as it's just finished. It's a fairly dull sport to be honest and yet I find it strangly compelling.

Sorry to here that, hang in there. When I'm too injured, ill or de-motivated to train I like to at least read about training instead. Brush up on the latest fitness articles and such to get some new ideas and tips, then maybe a healthy dose of Mark Rippetoe straight talk to make sure I haven't wandered off too far down the trendy 'fuctional training' rabbit hole, then plan what workout I will do once I'm able. I also like to read about the history of physical culture. How people trainied from ancient times to modern day, the history of bodybuilding and the sport of weightlifting, and the old time strong men like Eugene Sandow and Arthur Saxon etc. I feel like I should know a bit about the history of my hobby.

Get creative, do a ten second isometric overhead press against the door frame of every doorway you walk through, do pushups while the kettle is boiling, earn that brew haha. Best of luck mate.

To me it's sad that political correctness, for want of a better phrase, that is the 'judgement brigade'/thought police, has now invaded people's personal grief, and now people are judged on the level of grief they demonstrate, or not, and where they direct it, or don't. As if a social media account and the content there of is the totality of a person's mind, feelings and opinion, which it isn't. And thus the self-righteous scoring of points, both politically and socially, commences shifting attention from the atrocity itself. Instead it becomes about self importance and moral superiority of the judgemental, mind reading, thought policing, shame slinging, social justice guilt merchants dictating how everybody else should think, speak and act, the kind of fascism ISIS would be proud of. In the old days before social media, people just heard bad news (or didn't, there wasn't as much global media at our finger tips), and felt bad. Now if you don't express your grief publicly you're judged a bad person, and if you appear to selectively express your grief you're judged bad. You can't actually win, the reality is tragic loss of life is ever ongoing, therefore in order to truly express the sentiment "all lives matter" a person would be in a constant state of grief and their social media flag would be at half mast all the time. Oh and you'd be attending the funerals of random people you didn't even know, which I assume the people complaining do all the time, that is if as they say they value and grieve for all people equally. Just let people grieve as and when they choose, they're is no right or wrong answer. It's not as if anybody is actually stating white/european lives matter more, the perceived implication of such isn't enough for the level of condemnation being dished out. And it's hardly a shock that atrocities hit people more the closer to them they are, it's not racism or white/european superiority as has been argued. The people holding up terror atrocities in countries not even on most Western people's radar to shame the rest of us are probably just bragging about how geopolitically informed they are, well good for them, but maybe some of us are just 'grief-ed out' by the tragedy in our own lives to go hunting for more things to be upset about in the news. It may very well be to our credit that we publicly show any public grief for terrorist atrocities abroad at all, just because we don't all the time doesn't necessarily mean we don't care.

Fantastic performance and well deserved result for Liverpool today. What a strange team we are, lose at home to Palace, then batter Man City away. Respect to Leicester as well for the run they're on.

Hang in there Animal, if you can find time just a few minutes of exercise a day could help you destress, just a quick yoga-ish routine is better than nothing. If you're really struggling for time and/or motivation to 'work out', make a deal with yourself to do 10 squats every time you enter a new room at home, as though it's the price of entry haha. No reason why you can't exercise in spits and spats throughout the day like that.

God I hate Crystal Palace. Anyway, this pic of Giroud and Gibbs on the BBC website made me laugh.

Great result for Liverpool. How Lucas stayed on I really don't know, but Jose and any Chelsea fan shouldn't bring Lucas up without mentioning Costa aswell, so let's call it evens. Regardless Liverpool were the better side and deserved the win, if Klopp can just keep us consistant then top 4 is a real possibility.

You can't really win can you? Most of the time we relax too much and our posture sucks, now you're too active. As for yoga I'm considering going exclusively yoga/bodyweight for a while to try and work out my injuries and tightness, I think they're beyond regular stretching. I'm interested in trying out DDP Yoga style yoga with a bit of Animal-Flow stuff. Cool idea, how about City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2? If that doesn't make you want to run nothing will. And when you want to embrace your inner savage and show the weights what's up, how about a bit of Aint That Funny from Mad World?

An away draw is an odd time for a sacking Rodgers but there was a rumour that he'd been given a last chance points target for before the international break, so maybe today's draw left him short of the requirement. After his coaches had already been sacked in the summer you felt like he was on his last chance anyway. Unfortunately it means Everton will now take credit for his sacking. I was pretty indifferent to Rodgers so I'm kind of neutral on his sacking, feel sorry for him becasue he wasn't a bad guy and did nearly win the league, but I'm now excited to see who comes in and what new ideas they might have. We have good players performing below par, hopefully somebody can shuffle the pack and players find roles that brings the best out of them. I wouldn't be upset with Klopp at all but Ancelotti would be my preference if we can get someone like that. Part if me wishes someone already connected with the club like Sammi Hypia got the job and lead us to glory but realistically I don't think he'd be up to it. By the sound of FSG's statement they'll probably look to appoint somesome during the break so hopfully we won't have too wait long. If both Accelotti and Klopp turn us down though we could end up with a surprise left field candidate, in that case basically anyone but Moyes haha.

Yes, any live tv, or recorded live tv (such a watching from a Sky Plus box) requires a tv license. On demand tv such as Netflix or even BBC's I-player (unless you're watching a show live) do not.

Disgraceful scenes at The Bridge, but as long as the rules and the refs punish the retaliators instead of the agitators cynical managers like Jose will continue to send players out on the wind up and get away with it. Pure trolling by Jose to call Costa the man of the match, though to be fair I suppose Costa decided the result. Garth Crooks was absolutely pissed yesterday at the ref, then contradicted himself by saying he failed to keep the game 11 vs 11 but then advocated sending both players of for any more nonsense. I would suggest the problem isn't too many red cards, but actually not enough, Costa should have been sent off, the only way to stop players like Costa is too punish them. Everyone blames the ref for not keeping a game 11 vs 11, but the players are responsible as well, it's not the ref's fault if a player deserves to go as Costa did.

That might be part of it, plus they know if they gave people the choice some people would just do without the BBC, so they make it compulsory to acquire an much funding as possible. Thing is if the cost was just mixed in with people's general taxation they probably wouldn't mind as much, but having a separate licence fee notice it more. I'm not sure about the way it's funded, the concept of a tv licence seems silly, but I do like the idea of at least one impartial broadcaster that isn't dancing to the tune of commercial influences. But I would question the size of the BBC, for example I'm not sure the BBC needs to be responsible for maintaining so many local radio stations, surely the private sector can provide local radio content.
-
I realise they couldn't sell them for as much, but they could sell them to multiple broadcasters to make up the difference, who wouldn't buy Premier League and Champions League football rights at an affordable price?
-
ITV have highlights tonight. I don't understand the FA and UEFA, they say they want kids involved in the game and all that but put the games on premium subscription channels which makes them less accessible. Which is also bad for the sponsors as the reach of their brands is subsequently limited. The idea that competition to Sky from BT will benefit the consumer is flawed too, because the rights are split. In order to watch all of it you need both networks, so the consumer actually has to pay more. It's not like Sky have reduced their prices now they have less football content. If they at least put it all in one place at the start of the season people could sign up to which ever broadcaster for a year, then switch if necessary. Or why not sell the rights to everyone who wants them instead of exclusivity? Then we'd have real competition.

He needs to do something, because it just aint working at the moment. Starting Ings out wide is a joke, while Ibe and Origi are on the bench and we have just sent a £20mil winger out on loan.

Maybe consider a proper breakfast to kick start your metabolism, and then if need by reduce the calories of your following meals as the day goes on. If you skip brekkie then you're spending your morning still coming out of the low metabolic state you're in while sleeping. Also train before your evening meal if possible so as not to feel hungry again after your evening meal. For cardio I wouldn't bother with the long distance/duration stuff unless you specifically want that type of endurance. For weight loss I would go for short and sharp, more intense stuff, complexes, sprints, hill sprints, tabata, bodyweight circuits, carries etc. For example a variety of carries until your upper body fatigues, then finish off the legs with a set or two of bodyweight leg exercise to failure. Wouldn't take you very long and would build more fat burning muscle than jogging.

Scaling back is fine if you initially bit off more than you can chew, but you should be aiming to work your way back up to 3 x 15 again and beyond. As the name implies a carry (or "loaded carry") is carrying a load for time or distance. It's a good method of cardio that's simple to do and can also help build muscle and strength to a degree, as well as burn fat. And obviously has practical carryover to real life activities. There are different types of carry, the most well known version is the "Falmers Walk", which is carrying two heavy implements, one in heach hand. You can also carry weight held to your chest (such as the "globet carry"), or overhead (such as the "Waiter's Walk"). If you like the sound of carries have a read of these. https://www.t-nation.com/training/secret-of-loaded-carries https://www.t-nation.com/training/boy-you-gotta-carry-that-weight This article mentions the Goblet Carry I mentioned, specifically in reference to building the gunz. https://www.t-nation.com/training/timed-carries-for-traps-arms-core

Sort of but not really. As a rule of thumb, stength is a focus on tension, muscle building is the combination of tension and fatigue, while cardio is more of a focus on fatigue. While what you did may not seem pure cardio training, I doubt it would build much muscle, due to the relative lack of tension, and the fact that building muscle, or indeed building strength or endurance, is an ongoing adaptive process, meaning one workout itself is unlikely to yeild a significant result, compared to an ongoing training plan involving progressive incrimental improvements over a consistant routine. That said, during the begining period of an exercise regime almost anything will build some muscle for a short while. What is your goal? If you simply want to exercise and burn calories then you certainy accomplished that, almost any routine will do that. But a more specific goal might need a more detailed plan. As rope thingy is unclear, there appears to be a lack of pulling in your routine, the dips cover the push motion, but without pulls (motions that work the upper back and biceps) you could develop imbalances leading to pain and injury, and poor posture. Some kind of row or pull up would be ideal. Tricep extensions, as with bicep curls, may not be necessary, just depends how much you want to empahasize your upper arms. Leg extensions and leg curls are ok, again good if you want to target your thighs specifically, but you may be better served by concerntrating on your squats, because the squats will work all the muscles of the thighs, aswell as the glutes and hips all at once, aswell as teach your nervous system how to engage those muscles in a natural and practical way. If high reps are your thing, i.e. you have a bias towards endurance traning rather than strength, then maybe just focus on doing more bodyweight squats for your legs. I assume the 3KG weights held at arms length are to act as a counter balance, this is fine as long as your arms and shoulders don't fatigue before your legs do, otherwise I wouldn't bother with the weights at arms length. (If you want to increase the difficulty of your squats by adding a weight then barbells, and to a lesser extent dumbbells and kettlebells, are the way to go.) 2x10 is fine for a start, but I see no reason why 2x50 or more shouldn't be achievable in time. You could aim to do an extra couple of reps each workout. (Once you can do 100+ squats it's probably the only fat burning exexcise you'll ever need.) If you get bored of so many squats you could alternate sqauts with alternating step ups or alternating reverse lunges, or do a set of each. Keep doing the sit ups if you want, personally I wouldn't, I'd prefer a carry (these are usually called "loaded carries" but I don't know how a carry could be unloaded) to kill more birds with one stone. The dumbbell/kettlebell 'goblet carry' will hit the abs nicely (as well as get some upper back and bicep work in), just as the goblet squat itself could work your legs and abs in one move. There is also the overhead carry too if your shoulder mobility allows it, that will work the shoulders and upper back as well as the entire core (abs, obliques, lower back etc). Whilst on the subject of overhead, if overheard head movements are ok for you then I might also suggest replacing the dip machine with the overhead press, perhaps specifically the neutral grip dumbbell press to begin with. Lastly i'd just emphasise that for optimium progress you need to make constant progress, ie aim to increase the weight and/or work in small incriments from workout to workout. That also requires a set consistant routine, rather than just doing different exercises randomly. Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps.

It was a bad call, but it's nothing new. As to why the lino could get it wrong, to be fair when the goal was scored I didn't know what was going on, who was onside and offisde. There was just a bunch of Liverpool players moving, some offside some not, in the heat of the moment the lino may have been confused just as I was on first viewing in real time. And in these situations of uncertainty the directive is to give the attacking team the benefit of the doubt, in reality though I think it's actually quite rare they actually do.

You're welcome mate. I apologise for the length of the post, a lot of it may not be becessary, but i wanted to cover as many bases as possible. Unfortunately the 'shoulder' and 'shoulder injuries' are actually very vague terms, so if nothing else I wanted to draw to your attention to the possible complexity of the issue, ie the 'shoulder' is made of several muscles and tendons, and that it may not just your shoulders at the root of the problem. From researching my own shoulder issue I was stunned at how many related muscles could be responsible, from the neck to the bicep. You may find the bands do the trick and pull-aparts are the only exercise you need to fix the issue, along with massage and posture practice. Apparently Joe De Franco is an authority on band pull-aparts for shoulders and posture correction so he might be worth googling.
