    why is a revolution 360 degrees? as stated in a fan made revolution movie, u just end up where u started by going 360 degrees :P right ? :yes:

     

    A revolution is also a complete turn on an axis. I did have the actual definition for this in a thread on the old boards, but i can't find it atm. :(

    Well, strange that this thread was here. I had a weird night on Friday.

    Basically, on the night this site launched, i was with my girlfriend in a car eating curry and chips and just talking. Then, when we decided to leave, the car battery was dead. So, we waited for half an hour/an hour to see if it would come alive. Did it heck.:heh:

    So, i walked her home, and it was quite a cold night. Took about 20 mins to walk her home. But, when i was walking home (this is about midnight, and it was pitch black), the streets were deserted. I didn't come across a single person for ages. It reminded me of a scene out of 28 days later.

    I didn't feel scared or anything, it just seemed a bit weird that there wasn't a person in sight for miles. I love walking at night tho, because for some reason the air feels a lot cleaner. That's why i love night outs so much. The walking out in the dark, feeling the cold, it's just excellent. Although, i did feel a little nervous that night, because for a time, it felt like there was just me and my thoughts.

    Seriously, life isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. I love life. Sure, it's like a rollercoaster, suddenly you're on a high, then you sink to a low. But, the best times are when you're on a low and you cheer up and you feel absolutely invincible. That's what being alive is all about. If every second in your life is a happy moment, you would get incredibly bored and you would just crave more. It's good to have balance where you have some good times and some bad times, because then you will experience both emotions.

     

    Sure, i've had many problems, but i know that i've had many truely amazing moments. It's just the way things work. Life isn't all doom and gloom. But it isn't a laugh a minute either. It can be stressful, but it can feel like freedom. It's meant to be all of these things. But, as the Oasis song "cigarettes and alcohol" goes:

     

    "you gotta make it happen".

     

    So make it happen.

    Thanks for the references regarding the 'Shell'.

    However I feel this set up could only be used for retro gaming. But there is a danger lazy third party developers could just use the shell for ports, which would be a travesty to be honest, especially not opting for the unique potential of the rev controller. Dave Perry would be one of those that would be lazy enough not to experiment and try something new with the new controller, if going by his recent remarks can be taken into consideration.

     

    The flip side is, without a shell or something, 3rd parties might not even bring the games to the Revolution because they might feel 'put off' by the controller.

    If we all moaned about the bad stuff in the world, we'd be missing all the good things in life, and believe me..there are plenty of amazing things.

     

    You can enjoy school and your job. I've been working for 2 weeks in a primary school, and i've enjoyed every second of it. I'm now looking forward even more to becoming a teacher. Life is what you make of it. You can have a job you like, it's all about preference.

     

    There's more to life than worrying about religion. I know this as much as anybody, religion causes so many problems. Thing is, if you keep worrying about the bad stuff, it overshadows the good things, which just means you end up feeling unhappy when you could potentially be in an amazing mood.

     

    Of course you can have a happy life. But it's you who has to make it good. You can't rely on the world to change to fit in with your plans. Sometimes you have to struggle to get the things you really want, but that just makes the end product all that more sweeter.

     

    I hope i've made sense.

    Can the media do anything right at the moment? It's like when they started those "petrol shortages" warnings, which causes people to go out and fill up...therefore resulting in a bigger shortage. :hmm:

     

    I would rather they didn't do an article or a "story" on something, when they are not in full possession (sp?) of the facts. Like here.

    As Fierce_Link said many times on CE, a revolution doesn't have to be something "revolutionary". Look at the logo on the top right of the forums, or a car's RPM meter.

     

    Exactly. A revolution is 360 degrees, so imo it would be perfect to keep the name "Revolution" because of what the controller is capable of.

    I'd be surprised if they did change it really. It's a great name.

    Of course you can just use the shell with the controller to play a game like Resident Evil 5 but there is a problem. Lets say that the Nintendo Revolution is underpowered compared to the XBOX360 or PS3 and the Revolution controller would not be used at all. That means a customer can either get the high-res and probably "better" looking game with traditional control or either the Revolution one with nearly the same controller scheme but without the gfx power.

     

    So I think either Nintendo has to really make it simple to code for the controller or deliever a power machine which can at least compete with the XBOX360.

     

    Aye, there is that. But, we don't know sod all about any of that yet. So, we're playing the waiting game, again. :P

    Because rep points so arent the new post count :hmm:

     

    Well, the theory behind rep points is that you give "karma" (or something) to someone who has made a good post. You can also give bad karma to someone who has made a bad post. It's a good way of repping people who do make good, thought out posts on the boards, for example "johelian".

    Suggestions/problems:

     

    1. Would it not make more sense to have the "News" threads in the relevant forums, i.e. Revolution stories in the Revolution forum? At the moment it seems to be that most people end up discussing news related topics in the forums related to the particular system, just seems to make more sense that way. I don't know if it's automated at the moment, if it is you'd need to add a category to each news piece, though I'd still recommend leaving the "News:" tag at the start.

     

    2. I'm not sure if the reputation is running correctly at the moment, I was just looking in my profile settings and noticed two people seem to have given me postive feedback but there's no change in my score. Is it broken, or do you have to exceed the initial 10 that you seem to get by default?

     

    1. The news board is directly linked to the main site. It more or less replaces the old comments system. Basically, it's just a way of allowing people who browse the main site to come into the boards and talk about the news articles. I actually think it's good the way it currently is, because then all news that has been posted on the main site is in one place, whereas it would get lost in Revolution discussion board.

     

    2. The reputation thing is confusing, so sorry if i get this wrong. I've had a total of 9 comments, yet my total was still 10. I think it has something to do with posts. The more posts the person who's repping you has, the bigger the 'power' they will have when they rep you. The problem with me was all the people who were repping me were doing it on the first day or second day of the site, when people still had low post counts! So, i believe they have to get above a certain postcount before the rep system fully comes into play.

     

    Athriller: We'll discuss it with the staff and we'll come to a decision. Although, i would agree on raising the avatar size limit before i agree on a sig limit tho, as i feel anything bigger than 500x150 is just plain silly. I think we can reach a compromise on this.

     

    Roadkill: These points will be brought us and talked over with staff. I'll see what i can do.

    It could be a bit strange seeing the face of someone you know is dead attatched to someone who happens to be out doing a bit of shopping.

     

    That would really affect someone psychologically. I guess it's really no different than having a new liver or kidney donated by someone else. But, i dunno. There are too many issues with this. :hmm:

    *Rails are back...infact they are much super faster than before

    *Camera are fixed, you can rotate and fix the camera yourself

    *EAsy controls

    *super faster than anyother sonic games

    *large level

    *Stronger enemey

    *attacking interact

    *rope hoping

     

    It won't be on the revo, becuase of the remote controler and graphcis engine

     

    Where did you find out all that information about the sonic game?
