The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Serebii replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The Temple of Time stuff looks so dull, lifeless and un-Nintendo. The variation in the tech demo from 2011 looks so much better. Not that it's bad. It's clearly very detailed, but it's just so un-Zelda. As for the leaked info, I never trust it. Almost always complete bull, and this is just mostly stating vague statements that have a high probability of being true. -

Wii U uses USB2.0. This runs at a standard 280Mb/s (35MB/s), so if you have faster Internet and a wireless router that's 802.11n, then chances are you will see a speed loss. That said, unless I'm mistaken, the Ethernet Adapter means it will only run BASE-100 so that's 100Mb/s (though there are reports of it being BASE-10, which would be ridiculously slow, which is probably true) Going the USB route means it'll be more stable, but could be slower

Locked 60fps @ 720p is much better than varying fps at 1080p Hell, I'd argue it's better than 1080p30fps

If you buy #Kirby: Triple Deluxe from 3DS eShop before 13/7 you'll get a download code for Kirby's Dream Land 2

Really? I had a look the other day because I have points on my account still, and the urge to play it, and I couldn't find it.

I'm actually stunned at the low amount of content on it. First-party wise, we're actually running out of content on all platforms except GBA. From what I've been given to understand, the third parties still have to agree to it and allow it, which is why things have been so spartan on the Wii U. That's why Capcom have been running polls for releases. Why Namco has been reregistering GBA games etc.
-
Thing is, many of the third party games have to be decided on, released and even compiled by the third party and not by Nintendo, and unfortunately, they don't seem to want to do it on Wii U. Square Enix need to get their foot out and release the damn VC games outside of Japan.

Stand back guys. It's getting crazy this week. This week, our Virtual Console game is

Pic of the day. You can get up on the lights of this special ring. It's a perfect secret hiding place. And you can attack the lights and have them fall to the ground! That makes things dark. The lights are way up high, but even Little Mac can get up there by jumping off the ropes

IGN RUMOR - Nintendo may show new hardware at E3

They can get chat features on their console, as evidence by MK8, Pokémon X & Y etc. Just because they are restricted by choice of Nintendo does not mean they don't exist -

Pokémon Art Academy on 3DS I disagree. I think a Nintendo phone would flop faster than the Wii U, maybe even Virtual Boy levels -

Metroid. Starfox. Zelda. Pokémon. It'll be a glorious E3. Disclaimer; The above is speculation and not an indicator of insider knowledge -
IGN RUMOR - Nintendo may show new hardware at E3

The resolution is the only issue with the 3DS. The graphics it can do are great. Hell, I sometimes don't even notice that the resolution is so small. However, having a massively high-spec handheld is not as cost-effective as you may think. Mobiles get away with it through subsidised contracts. Buying one on its own is typically like £400-500 for a decent performing model, game-wise. It'd be another seriously loss-leading thing if they're to go through with it at this point. But, I digress. It's not coming this year. This is the one time Nintendo has outright denied something, rather than dance around it, so the discussion is moot for now. -
Well, this one is solely for the special Direct for it, but that's over now

IGN RUMOR - Nintendo may show new hardware at E3
Serebii replied to canand's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I don't doubt that we'll likely get a new handheld next year. What I do doubt is them revealing it this year. It'd be too risky considering they're relying on 3DS for revenue at themoment. If they risk the sales of that, then they could damage their business. Reveal it next E3 for release next Autumn. Simple -
That's odd. The official site says differently... http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wiiu/amkj/detail/index.html That states that the Classic Controller Pro is usable

But in those instances, they never categorically denied it. They chose words carefully. This time, they made an absolute statement. -
You do know reviewers always get games a few weeks early, right? :p

I apologise. I have been on GAF too long :p

Dude, that's PR speak for "we're not telling". There was no lies in that statement, and no denial too. As a journalist, I learned to actually read what they say, not what they imply. They're very sneaky.
