  1. Just made a start, though I'll be watching the Pokémon Stream for most of the day. Looks gorgeous, and the Song of Double Time changes is an absolute blessing. I needed the Blast Mask, so instead of waiting around for god knows how long, I just moved to 11pm and bam. Beautiful
  2. Serperior no contest.
  3. In competitive battles, your Pokémon's going to last one, maybe two turns at most (for the most part. I am hyperbolising a bit) so the drop isn't that bad.
  4. That's assuming you don't fail and don't have to grind Pokémon levels, which is almost certain to happen
  5. Covering it for Serebii.net is going to wind up being a tiny bit expensive :/
  6. You can 100% it without paying a thing though. It'll just take time. I just wish there was a one off payment that removed stamina
  7. Official Japanese site gave out some details on Pokémon Shuffle. First is the release date: February 18th 2015, which matches what the US Newsletter gave. Hopefully we'll get clarification for the US and announcement for Europe on Monday. Now, here's the nitty gritty. This game is free to play, as announced in the Direct. It uses a stamina system where you get 5 hearts and use a heart every time you play a stage (win or lose), and the hearts take time to recover. We first thought it was 15 minutes, but now some imagery appears to show it being 30 minutes. You can expedite this by buying hearts in the store using the in-game currency, gems. Gems can be obtained through StreetPass but can also be purchased with in-app purchases: 1 Gem = 100 Yen ($0.84 so will probably be $1 in the US) With this, you can then purchase either hearts or coins. Coins can be used to buy items to make stages easier, or Great Balls to make capture of Pokémon more likely. Due to the Nintendo Direct trailer, we have the shop pricing scheme: Hearts 5 Hearts = 1 Gem 20 Hearts = 3 Gems 45 Hearts = 6 Gems 75 Hearts = 10 Gems Coins 5000 Coins = 1 Gem 20000 Coins = 3 Gems 45000 Coins = 6 Gems 75000 Coins = 10 Gems Now, this means to get 75 hearts would be 1000 Yen, or approx. $8 Based on new screenshots, there are 159 Pokémon/stages (1 Pokémon per stage) in the game. If you were to plough through it, without using the stamina feature and without losing a single match, just paying for hearts, you'd need to spend 2300 Yen (assuming there aren't any extra stages with duplicates etc.). It's a little brutal. Though the idea is to play it over time and not 100% it as fast as possible, it could be worse but I'm not jumping for joy over this.
  8. Overheat drops your Special Attack when you use it. Flamethrower is better
  9. Because GAME/Gamestop/Toys 'R' Us staff kept pilfering the distribution cards and selling on eBay. Plus the stores were fed up with people downloading from outside the store. Serial codes solve this. Not sure why your store never does them. They're just printed off from the till. 1. Eruption has lower PP because it's more powerful, but with Camerupt's lack of Speed, when it gets a chance to use it, it won't be as powerful. Keep Lava Plume or Flamethrower 2. Absolutely not. Never use Fissure.
  10. ShopTo have really lost it. Think they've lost my custom forever after Smash and now this.
  11. Post came, no Majora's Mask. What the actual hell??
  12. Still waiting for the postman. I hate ShopTo
  13. What was wrong with the wool shop? :p They had as much content, if not more, than the rest and do when they provide the Directs as opposed to the others who just have E3, Gamescom and Sony's own event. Just because they focus on their own stuff rather than fill it with third party stuff (which for some makes no sense seeing as some of those companies have their own press conferences at E3) doesn't mean they have less content.
  14. Nintendo don't "lack content". People have said that for both years they have done digital events, and they delivered and then some. They also do bi-monthly directs filled with new games, new information, release dates etc. plus ones dedicated to specific games. So yeah, Nintendo doesn't "lack content".
  15. Yeah, they should just pre-record the demos and pretend to play them on stage like everyone else so those cockups don't happen :p
  16. That's what I've been saying. People put the pinnacle as a reason for conferences, but very rarely do they hit that level. Was it amazing? No doubt about it, but that's rare...especially nowadays when everything, outside of some Nintendo stuff, is leaked beforehand in one way or another.
  17. Yeah so they're likely to rent out the theatre again.
  18. The thing with conferences that bugs me is the constant self-stroking of egos and the mostly pre-recorded/staged demonstrations. You are correct in that E3 is a trade show, but Nintendo DO hold conferences for retailers etc. there and did last year. They just don't hold huge press events and that's what people seem to mean by conferences. The huge self-congratulatory ones filled with celebrities, fluff and bullshit, and I for one am glad Nintendo have dropped them. Also note that last year Nintendo actually booked the theatre they usually use for conferences for the same time they normally do...they just used it for the Smash tournament, so it's not like they saved money
  19. It's superficial. You can still get goosebumps with a Direct. The only people who should care if it's a Direct or not are the people who are actually there. The press conferences are just awkward and a trial to watch. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo's past ones. People just remember the few highlights and act like it justifies the whole crap. It doesn't.
  20. Those rooms are for roundtables, not E3 conferences. I prefer the Directs anyway. There's less bollocks, less awkward pauses for applause. Less attempts to be showy. We just get game information, hard and fast.
  21. It's actually standard business practice
  22. Yeah :/ I would go Nintendo UK, but they sent my N3DS faceplate via hermes and it's nowhere to be seen yet
  23. Each (except Darkrai) have their Hidden Abilities, which were unavailable before this event
  24. There's a special place in hell for you :p
  25. I've met with a terrible fate - my Majora's Mask 3D didn't arrive. Always happens when there's a pre-order bonus with the game on ShopTo.
