When you say Nirvana, do you mean the best of album? And to add to what's already been said (!), I completely agree that it's people who have only heard Smells Like Teen Spirit and possibly a few other commercial Nirvana songs that will think Kurt was a bad musician. Personally, I think he's one of the best songwriters ever to have graced our planet, and I know this will cause a huge debate, but the amount of emotion and energy he put into his lyrics fascinates me. If I were to list my favourite Nirvana songs, most of their stuff would be here. They're my favourite band, it's just a shame I was only a baby when Kurt died so I never got to appreciate them until recently. Still, some of my favourites are, in no particular order: In Utero Heart-Shaped Box Serve The Servants Radio Friendly Unit Shifter Rape Me Nevermind Drain You - Nevermind Come As You Are - Nevermind Then there are the demos, such as Verse Chorus Verse, You Know You're Right (also on the best of album) and the beautiful Do Re Mi. I do like some songs from Bleach, but I'm not going to say I love the album as much as In Utero (which is my favourite as I feel Kurt's songwriting really came into its own by that point) just to sound knowledgeable. A lot of people are all "Oh yeah, Bleach is their best album, innit!" and if they think so, that's great, but if it's just to sound like they 'know' Nirvana then there's no point!

It's also a shame you can't assign one person to two roles. If you want to play guitar and sing, for example, you need to use another account… I think!
-
I know what you're saying, but some of Kurt's ashes were put in places he would have liked such as the Wishkah River. Also, when Courtney said she took them everywhere with her, I don't think she meant 'everywhere', so I'm not sure why people are taking it out of context. At the end of the day it was a great loss to her and if it made her happy then there's nothing wrong with that IMO.
-
The worrying thing is, it probably is a Nirvana fan or Nirvana fans who stole Kurt's ashes, thinking it's an acceptable thing to do.
-
Nirvana's late singer and guitarist's ashes have been stolen from wife Courtney Love's Los Angeles home, over 14 years after his death. "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me" she said. "I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do" she added. "I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again". This report comes after Love's claims from earlier this year that over £100 million was stolen from the Cobain estate through use of his social security number. It's sick and twisted of someone to do this, and I expect it's the same person who stole that money earlier this year, some of which was daughter Frances Bean's.

You can't actually create online bands because Band World Tour isn't online supported. Still, you can have a few different groups of friends who you play online with regularly, though it won't track your progress as a band or anything.

I was just stating that as a side note. I play guitar as well, I just took it as a given that I would add that while I was at it.
-
That goes without saying. With the Rock Band Stratocaster's solo buttons it's a completely different thing. I thought you meant you could do solos in the same way as that… you can't!
-
Well when you said 'small notes' I assumed you meant the hammer on-able ones.
-
Yeah I do. Well that's not the same as using the Rock Band solo buttons. What I guess you're talking about is the notes that aren't as wide as normal notes. If that's the case, these are hammer ons (and in reverse order, pull offs). The Rock Band solo buttons let you play through the entire solo by not strumming at all - that's where I think you got confused dude.
-
Cool. So when you enter a solo do you just not strum the first note, and continue to not strum?

Assassins creed- no subtitles. Will I be able to play it?

Oh, ignore Dean, he hates fun. :p -
Really? Are you sure? I thought it was only for Rock Band's solo buttons, since on the RB guitar you can't just finger tap using the normal buttons (can you?). I'll have to try this on a solo another time - it might make Green Grass And High Tides' second solo on Expert a whole lot easier.

Sorry to hear that. I remember reading a letter several years ago in a games mag, where someone wrote in about developers missing subtitles out of games completely. It's a massive shame and it can't be that much effort to put in subtitles. -

Assassin's Creed is easy to understand just from looking at it. The only time when you might need someone to explain what the hell's going on is in the final scenes (but I won't spoil that for you). -
Listen to this man. He speaks words of wisdom, and he's got a Weetabix with a face as his alias!

If I had a PS3 I'd snap up Ridge Racer 7 right away, but it's one of those series you either like or you don't. Another game I'd buy, if it weren't for the fact I own it on the X360, is Colin McRae Dirt; I bought it having enjoyed the demo, but it surprised me and turned out to be fantastic. Resistance: Fall Of Man is an obvious purchase though even my PS3-owning friends (yeah, I've got friends) felt somewhat disappointed by it, as did a mass of critics.

The second screenshot looks dark and claustrophobic, which can only be a good thing!

I'm now stuck on Green Grass And High Tides on Expert, specifically about 40 percent of the way through where there's a bunch of notes, something like YGRRYG, and it keeps repeating really fast. I'm not sure when to save my overdrive, because if I don't use it earlier the stuff ahead I can't pick up (since my meter is full). But if I don't use the overdrive before that hard bit, I'm left with my audience love quite low! I'd always use it beforehand, but the if I miss the overdrive notes I'll have to restart (there's just no way I can complete the solo without it). Gah!

My band's quite successful and we're getting good coverage from all the corporate magazines… That's got to be one of the worst covers Rolling Stone has ever done, but I can't quite place my finger on why! :p
-
I gave in (kind of) and got the game on its own. I'm glad I did as well! I'll get the drum kit and maybe a microphone at a later date.
-
It's better than that! It exceeded my already high expectations.
-
Well, apart from the step down in graphical quality. Regardless there's plenty of room for titles like this on the Wii. The only thing I'm worried about is the cut-scenes; apparently they are recorded from the HD versions of the game and placed into the Wii and PS2 versions. As a result, it could look a bit cheap and nasty in places - why not create them using the same graphics engine instead?
-
I might just buy the game and get the microphone and drums for Christmas presents or something. I really can't wait for it to drop in price, probably by an insignificant amount anyway.
-
You're right, but I'm not going to spend such a large amount of money on a single game as much as I love it, just because it's on the promise EA won't be dropping its price. I'd buy it for £100 if the game was in there as well, but anything over that is ridiculous. The fact that it's about half the price in the US and Canada proves the game can be retailed at a sensible price. Why we have to be treated like the shit of the earth is neither here nor there.
