This. I tried getting online earlier this evening and had no luck whatsoever. Frankly I'm not surprised as I never get more than 2 bars of Wifi reception. When using my Switch docked and using a cabled internet connection (via a USB/Ethernet adapter), it works fine. Wifi sucks on the Switch

I have one of these: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/522656565/nintendo-switch-cover-switch-case-switch?ref=market Absolutely love it. Looks the bees knees whilst being practical protecting my Switch.

Good God, I will jizz in my pants if/when Smash comes to the Switch in any form. Probably the main reason I was interested in the Switch in the first place (Zelda reviews made my mind up tho).

For larger, more expensive items I tend to invest in a guarantee i.e. like a TV. For a console plagued with hardware issues it was a no brainer. I'll report back what GAME say tomorrow when I speak to them. Let's see if the guarantee was worth it...
-
Not sure but it should cover everything - paying £5 per month and the guy at the time said as much. Gonna pop into my local GAME tomorrow and see what they say. I've bit the bullet and ordered a second Pro Controller. I have a massive love affair with these controllers. They are the perfect fit although the d pad sucks balls. Apart from that though, I'm in LURRRVE

Thought I'd share y post from the General Switch Thread: Very annoyed with my Switch. So I finally managed to convince my siblings to play some MK multiplayer. I go to the hassle of setting it up on our larger TV and I'm excited to rekindle the excitement of our youth when it came to playing the likes of Smash and MK back in the day of N64/Gamecube. I give one joycon to each of my siblings and keep the Pro Controller to myself (obviously). We start a race and my bro (who's using the left joycon) is disconnected. Doesn't work. Continues to drop out. The stupid left joycon issue which I thought was fixed has reared its ugly head. Multiplayer session ruined. Then when taking off the extra bumpers for the joycons, I managed to cut my finger trying to yank one of them off. A small cut but oh so painful. Why they made it so difficult to take these things off is beyond me. Luckily I took out a guarantee with GAME. Does anyone know what they will offer? I really don't wanna have to return my entire Switch as I have 55 hours of my Zelda save on there. Will they offer to replace my joycons only? Or as its a manufacturing fault, will they direct me to Nintendo? Very very frustrating.

Didn't say it was gonna be easy. A console launch is never easy but Nintendo haven't helped themselves. At the end of the day you've got plenty of people who want the console but can't get one. That = failure on their part IMO. Took me 3 weeks after launch for my own system to arrive. The Switch has been a big success (so far) - doesn't mean there aren't improvements that Ninty could have made on the road to launching the thing. Don't wanna sound overly negative (I personally love my Switch) : peace:

Yeah I'm glad it's doing well. As I said previously the concept just works. Although in saying that, they really do need to sort out these stock issues. Fair play they didn't anticipate this level of demand but it's reached the stage where people who want one have to keep an eye on stores/stock trackers, 24/7. Even then it can be extremely difficult to get hold of one - I'm speaking from experience. Sort it out Ninty!

I've added a few of you to my Switch friends list - hope you don't mind. Feel free to add me peeps for some MP action: 6593-4331-5231

Tried the demo. I hardcore suck at the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

Managed to find myself near Hyrule Castle so I went ahead and got the Hylian Shield hehe. I shall enjoy surfing with it! Also fully levelled up my stealth armour. Anyone else absolutely love the look of the outfit? I always have it on and only change when climbing (into the climbing gear obvs). Think its about time I should tackle my first divine beast! -
100% in agreement. While I've still got a long way to go in BOTW, one of the main reasons I'm taking my time with the game is that I know there's nothing else that will take up my time on the Switch. Yeah MK8 looks class but that will predominantly be a MP experience for me. A SP experience though? Something that will keep me engrossed on a long commute or whenever else I'm travelling? Not so sure...I'm hoping E3 will reveal/launch the Virtual Console. Having access to the Nintendo back catalogue whilst travelling....*salivates*

I've got one extra stamina wheel which is proving to be just fine for my needs at the mo. Currently ploughing all orbs into heart containers so I can get a certain item.... -
Part of me envies you - even if I have a free weekend I can never sit down for that kinda session, I just get bored and need to do something different. Play games, switch to (pun intended) reading a book, watch a movie, go out etc. I think the Switch will really help with being able to fit in with other activities and our lives much more so than traditional consoles hooked up to a TV. Random question: does anyone else's Switch have a really weak wifi signal? Mine is permanently at 1 bar and that doesn't forebode well for online MK8 multiplayer...

I doubt I'll 100% it either but I find myself wanting to get pretty close to that mark. Which is strange as I'm not the type of player to see/collect/complete everything, not at all - couldn't care less about platinum-ing games on my PS4. Just goes to show how good this game world is!

Progress update: 35 hours in, 40 Shrines done, currently trying to find great fairies and upgrade armour as well as completing side quests.. Haven't bothered with any of the divine beasts so far and still managing to enjoy myself! Very keen to explore more of the world, there are still a couple more towers at least that I need to climb too. Glad that I'm taking my time with this game - after all there isn't much else to play on the Switch -
So witty  Personally I just find it crazy how you could finish a game like Zelda in a weekend - not saying you're doing it wrong or anything - it's just the nature of the game really encourages you to explore, go off the beaten track whether it be side quests, mini games, shrines etc. It's the complete opposite of a linear game and it's only games which are linear to the extreme which I could do in a weekend. We're talking about a COD Story campaign or a short game like Journey/Abzu on PS4. Again this is just me, my approach to gaming and how much time I have for the medium. Which brings me onto my next point.... 35 hours in a weekend - you guys are crazy! Get a life guys, geez : peace:

You finished Zelda the weekend it came out?! How may I ask?!

In my 30 hours so far with the game I've ridden a horse twice so I'm with ya. I prefer the 'climbing great big mountains and paragliding' approach. Much more rewarding -

Those are gorgeous - using for both my laptop and phone! -
Oh yeah, 100% in agreement but I'm just saying I'm pretty happy with ports of games I never got the chance to play having not owned a Wii/Wii U. I'm looking forward to the first game built from the ground up to take advantage of the Switch...which will most likely be Mario. I showed him whilst in the handheld mode. You can't please all the people all the time as they say....
-
Personally I'm not bothered about pushing the system as much as possible. Maybe it's because my Switch is my secondary console (to my PS4) so I don't expect cutting edge graphics (more concerned with gameplay and design). My best mate came over recently and said he wasn't impressed by Zelda's graphics. I felt like slapping him. Why people care so much for specs/graphics is beyond me. I think I'm getting old guys.

Agreed - the AI absolutely destroys me but its still fun to play! Will definitely have to consider buying the full game but as you mentioned the price does put me off. I guess we're gonna have to get used to paying the Switch premium i.e. pay for the portability/convenience. MK8 is a no brainer though - can't wait for that!
