Other Consoles@E3. Thread of Hype & Disappointment.
dwarf replied to Choze's topic in Other Consoles
No I was just implying that if that stuff was announced I wouldn't be annoyed. -
I took my English Clit exam today. It was an interesting examination to say the least.

I thought it was meant to annoy PS3 owners? -
I'm going to be flogging off some stuff on eBay. I get a real buzz out of doing it, it's addictive and rewarding. For example the 6 months ago I sold this relatively shit BBC Walking with Monsters DVD for £15 which was a huge shock that I was greatly surprised with. Do get pissed off that some DVDs I put on there (e.g King Kong) Don't even sell for the 99p price tag which confuses me greatly. Gonna put up my old Zen Microphoto, Doom 3 on PC (borrowed from a friend of a friend and have lost contact since so I thought 'why not?') and will try flogging some of my friends revision notes that he has made for economics! That'll be interesting

Yeah you can look at it any way you want really. It's a hard problem to solve.

Oh right I thought it dispelled the myth, although in the back of my mind I did sort of think it could have meant the opposite. -

I'm glad it wasn't real. The design was fugly. -
OK I guess you're right, but I just think that almost the same about of respect has to be paid to troubled clubs as it is to a big club in a final.

Not lazy, but how sad would it be?

I don't think Fergie should do that. It's arrogant and he would've fielded a completely different side if Arsenal scored last weekend. I know that's obvious, but he isn't respecting the other premier league sides. Sure it is a decent chance to play a couple of youngsters, but he is taking it too far. He should show he's serious by playing 2 of the 'big four/five' up front.

Gameswipe would be brilliant, he used to be a game reviewer and he understands why normal people reject videogames as something nerdish, which they kind of are. In one of his screenburn articles he wrote something about wanting to show how a videogame is fun to someone that hasn't played them before. So he gets shows this new release off to someone because he thinks it's great whilst simple, but then he realises that just explaining what the buttons are and the menus do is very difficult and almost pointless. I have experienced this trying to show my Dad a game.

Well they have different styles. The tropicality sets it apart and is a good change from most modern games.

What actually is that? Did you mix Folding at Home with Life with Playstation? I still don't know what either of them are.
-
Had a decent game with you earlier, seemed that you were fairly competent I have spent enough time on the game but you know when you start playing that you will have a fairly enjoyable time with it.
-
Oh did I? where? First post? And lols, I guess the joke is that I bought a PS3 because you got one

Hmmm? I'm not suggesting anything at all and my choices reflect my own personality and judgement so stop trying to read me.

RetroSpective: Astro Boy Omega Factor
dwarf replied to Ganepark32's topic in General Gaming Discussion
If I knew Astro Boy and you spaced your writing out a bit more I'd be tempted to read. -
Anyone know when the Newswipe series starts again? I have Brooker withdrawal symptoms. I want to laugh!

That's what i was kind of like until I realised how good the content the other platforms offered. Now I'm not advocating anyone to sell their Wii but that's what I did and ended up very happy with the fact that I could now afford the PS3. It wasn't that bad a price. £240 with 2 games and that was 6 months ago. I already have 18 games on it which is phenominal (includes PSN games) for me. I had the Wii for a year and had 11 games for it.

Yeah it's not even that major a thing, it's bigged up despite not really changing a whole lot. Immersion isn't achieved through a moral decision, it can't really be a moral decision unless something in real life actually happens. Sure a guy in the game's story might die because you chose to be a cock but that's entirely different to something much more real occuring as a result of your actions. I think the use of it should be canned and they just make it like it was, a one edged story. Because then at least you know where you stand at the end of the game and the character does what the character is. You aren't the guy in Fable, or Cole from infamous. You are yourself. The best way I could sum it up really is that if you are playing a story campaign it should be an account, not 2 or 3 possible theories of what did (or will) happen. The character doesn't have a set personality if you decide what they do. Plus it's not like the choices are subtle. You are either good or bad and the events reflect that with limited cut-scenes. Uncharted would be shit if Nathan wasn't funny. That's who he is and that's why he has more potential to be iconic than Cole.

Is anyone else getting slightly pissed off with the obvious overdose of moral decisions or path choices that are being included in games? Because I am, and I hate it how in interviews these designers and producers brandish this idea as a 'cool and exciting concept' or say that there is 'more choice for the player which puts them in the game' when in fact it's just an excuse for not having that much originality or an intriguing soundbyte that looks like it will be a very interesting part of a game. Now the fact it can be included isn't really that much of a bother for me but so many games think it is better to have this when I just think it is a step sideways that stops any real advancement in anything.

Bethesda: Really Big Mature Wii Title On The Way
dwarf replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
If it's another Fallout you're in for a fucking treat but they are already making another one on other consoles. I think for Wii they should do a more linear game with better set-pieces than Fallout. I love the retroness that Bethesda include in their games. The story telling/writing and stuff like the PipBoy are brilliant. -

I think hiding in the house and staying quiet is a good bet, attics, garage lofts etc can't be reached when you take the ladder away. It all depends on what your zombie can do and how long you think it would take to last. Tbh I think a country would nuke Britain if it had a plague of dangerous zombies.
