Completely agree. Red Steel had so much potential, and though we got a great taste of it, it can be much better. If Nintendo and Ubisoft work together, the sequel could be a blast.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Dannyboy-the-Dane replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So, he's N-Europe's answer to the Oracle from Delphi? Fair enough, there HAD to be a reason nobody demanded a source. :p So, to be serious for a second, he has usually got his sources right? EDIT: From the next few posts, I can see that he does. -

Gee, I did? :p I meant where the POSTER got the information. It doesn't just pop into people's heads when a game goes gold ... or does it? -

Whence, if I may enquire, have you actually got the information that Brawl has gone gold? -
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Dannyboy-the-Dane replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Why? You don't think they've revealed all the unlockable characters already, do you? Note that I have no idea whatsoever if Mega Man will be in - I doubt it, to be honest - but I also doubted Sonic, so I may very well be wrong on this one, too. I just don't think that Brawl "going gold" means that Mega Man can't be in. -

I surely hope so. Everything else would just be stupid and so not Sakurai. -

How come no one seems to worry about this? Why does it seemingly cost some sort of points to send data online? -
Well, I personally love Red Steel. True, the graphics could be better, and the sword fighting isn't really fun in the long run. It gets repetitive and annoying, and I could never get the special combos to work. I swear, the levels I spent the most time on were the ones where you HAD to do the special combos - THRICE for crying out loud! But apart from these things, I loved the game. The controls were amazing, but what I loved the most was the atmosphere and the feel of the game. From the story (which unfortunately got a little blurry at the end) to the cutscenes to the level design, everything just felt so good. My friends and I have played the multiplayer part for I don't know how many hours and we had tremendous fun (though you need at least 2 friends to make it really fun). I'm truly excited about a sequel being made, because it gives the developers a chance to straighten out the less good parts of the first to make the second a fantastic game.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Dannyboy-the-Dane replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I can see your point, but I like the way they combine the different universes, which is for me the best thing about Smash Bros. If it was Pokémon Trainer and Pikachu against Rayquaza, it would just be good ol' Pokémon - which would be good, of course - but not very original. -
Oh, you ... :p

Of course I am stereotyping. You don't think I really think all mangas are that far out? It was just an innocent joke based on stereotypes, that's all. Of course, sarcasm can be hard to spot in written text, so maybe I should have made it more clear.

How trivial today's update may seem to some, I love it. The fact that Sakurai & Co. think about these things really proves that they sincerely care about this game. Plus, since Mario has been running around in Wario's colours since Melee (or maybe even Smash Bros., don't remember), Wario couldn't join without his good ol' original costume, now, could he? The alternate costume idea is something I've missed since the original Smash Bros. If you can do it with some of the other characters, too, this game will kick 10 percent more behind than it already does - which is a lot! Notice that some of Wario's alternate colours for his original costume are identical to Mario's, particularly the red/blue and green/orange. One thing to note, though, is that Wario's cap for the red/blue costume is red (unlike Mario's blue), which makes him nearly identical to the early Mario games and the cartoons in which the shirt and overall colours were swapped for Mario and Luigi. This was also mentioned in Mario's trophy in Melee. The brown costume is the same as Mario's with swapped colours, except it's generally more beige. The very light (almost icy) red/blue costume has Mario's colours as we know them, except the cap colour is swapped again. Sorry for going geek on the colours. I just have something for colours. -
If you cared about it, you wouldn't be reading manga.
-
Of course they have! But you gotta admit, their stories are WAY out there sometimes.
-
Sorry to hear, mate. Don't really know what to say. I suck at condoling. Hope it works out for you.

No doubt the quote of the day! If my life was a manga? Well, I'd probably be this super-intelligent, geekish type who this hot girl would fall in love with, but I'd be completely oblivious about it. Then the mafia would try to kidnap me to use my brain for cracking some super computer, but I'd save the day with my intelligence. And I'd get the girl in the end. Yup, definitely the next bestseller in Japan. ... Seriously, considering their taste in comics, I think this could actually work! Maybe I could turn it into a series ...

I thought it was pretty good. It's the game most true to Lylat Wars so far. -

This is not turning out the way I predicted. :p I just mean that most people focus on Zero Suit Samus's body and not her hair, so it would seem more logical to give Kirby a blue jumpsuit, as it would make the costume more recognizable. We already have 2 blonde girls in Brawl and even though their haircuts are different, it seems a vague trait to recognize them by, let alone making it the only characteristic to recognize them by. -
3rd Parties Finding It Difficult Satisfying Casuals.
Dannyboy-the-Dane replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's funny (and kind of sad) if looked at that way, but in context I think they mean that casual gamers want different types of games compared to hardcore gamers, i.e. other types of games. -

Nintendo just has something for blonde chicks. We need something other than a ponytail to distinguish them, especially since very few people (you can't deny this!) remember Zero Suit Samus for her hair. -

Hm, I think the Zero Suit would have made Kirby's Zero Suit Samus costume more recognizable. The ponytail isn't really defining enough and I spent a few seconds figuring out who it was. -

Yeah, cool idea. I'm just a little sad since they haven't moved on to more originality in colour schemes for teams, like for instance gold and black. -

I was actually aguing why F-Zero and the other games mentioned could not be called Mario games because they never were a part of the Mario universe like DK, Yoshi and Wario are/were. I never said I didn't view those three as separate universes (especially DK created his own world, Wario followed later with the WarioWare games), just that they once all belonged to the Mario universe and in a sense still do. And yes, I say the Mario universe, because even though Donkey Kong was the title of the first game for both him and Mario, it had nothing to do with the Mario universe we know now. After the original Donkey Kong games, Mario got his own world in which DK got a supporting role. He later gained his own universe, but he, Yoshi and Wario kept appearing and still do so in games that ultimately were and are Mario games (Mario Kart, Mario Party etc.) - so by my logic, both Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Wario are in a sense still part of the Mario universe, even though they now have their own respective universes.
