Just had a load of emails from PCWorld. My Wii has been dispatched with DHL and I've got a tracking number. All my extra Nunchucks are being processed. Just waiting on Wii Play and the extra controllers. Also had an email from Play.com regarding the component cable. They can't deliver for launch but have been promised stock before Christmas.

Just checked my Credit Card and PCWorld took the money yesterday. At least I know I've definitely got a Wii. Just hope they deliver on time.

Having read a few comments in this thread that PCWorld weren't going to send anything out until the 8th, and resigning myself to the fact that I wasn't going to get my Wii until next week, I've just received an email from them to say that they are now processing my order and will let me know when it's despatched. OK, so they still might not send it until the end of the week, but at least I now know that they're doing something. I have noticed, however, that it's only my Wii that's being processed. My Wii Play, 2 extra controllers and 3 extra nunchucks are still in pre-order status.

Or getting increasingly annoyed that the postman hasn't turned up yet!
-
So why isn't this thread being locked? I made a thread a week or so again saying that we'd been told there was meant to be one last secret and asking if anyone had heard any more about it, and it was shot down in flames and locked almost instantly!
-
But then, as play.com orders come from Jersey, and the postal service is rubbish, you probably won't receive it until the 8th !
-
I pre-ordered a few games from this site and also had a 5% discount so were even cheaper. HOWEVER, have also ordered other games from them and the service is very very slow, and not just because they post them from Jersey. So don't expect to get the games on the day of release.

I can't sit around here all day wasting my time. Looks like I'm just going to hope that PCWorld deliver on time

Conversation overheard at Amazon . . . 'Hey Bert, have you updated the Wii pre-order page yet?' 'Oh S**t forgot. Will just finish my toast and tea and then do it'
-
Propably find that the person responsible for updating the page is a Sony Fanboy and is just sitting there having 'a great laugh' at all the hits.

I've got a funeral to go to this afternoon, so am not going to work. Can't wait all day though!

LOL @ cube_game - Good one

Ordered really early from PCWorld, but would be nice to have a back-up order, hence why I'm waiting for Amazon
-
No sign of it on Amazon yet - speed seems fine to me at the moment

Unless I've missed anything. Now that the Wii's been launch in America, does anyone know what the "One last secret . . . and it's big" is?
-
Sorry, nothing to do with this thread, but instead about the OP. pimpdaddy - What are you trying to hide in your sig? Disguising a referal link as something totally different, with the message 'You HAVE to see this' does not go down well in my eyes.
-
I'm pretty certain that it wasn't there when I placed my order. The notice is so big and obvious I know I would have seen it. Suspect it's gone on since their initial allotment of Wii's has been taken up.
-
Has anyone ever used this company before? Are they reliable? Personally, I've never heard of them before, but am tempted to order as a backup.

I notice that on the PCWorld web site they now have a message saying: "PRE ORDERING DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET A NINTENDO WII ON DAY OF LAUNCH. WE WILL ENSURE WE GET A WII TO YOU AS SOON AS STOCK AVAILABILITY ALLOWS." When I went into PCWorld yesterday, they were not taking any more pre-orders, so I think you'll be very lucky to get one on launch day if you only pre-ordered yesterday. I pre-ordered mine from pcworld.co.uk on the 27th September, so hopefully this was early enough to get one.

I went into Virgin last night on the way home and was told that they had just, earlier on in the day, filled all of their allocated pre-orders - Virgin had been allocated 1000 units. Was told that there might be a 2nd allocation in a week or so's time. So it looks like I'm just going to have to rely on PCWorld delivering.
-
I ordered mine from PCWorld online. I noticed that my local PCWorld store has adverts up for pre-ordering so I went in there this lunchtime to see if I could change my order from on-line to in store. They weren't able to do that, I'd have to order in store and cancel my online order. BUT the guy checked with their stock department and came back saying that they weren't taking any more in store pre orders for the Wii. He also said that if all the on-line preorders were taken you wouldn't be able to order one. Not sure if this is bulls*** or not but if true, should mean that I'll definitely get one. Just one concern. Checking my order on-line I see that the delivery date says "Usually 5 - 7 working days after the release date". I hope that's not true! My local Virgin (store )have just the other day put up a sign for pre-orders, so I might pop in there on the way home to see if they can gaurantee me one.

Thanks! My kids are too young to use this type of writing at the moment. Suppose I'm going to have to learn it sooner or later.

Don't you mean rechargable (and not reloadable)? You can buy non rechargable lithium AA Batteries. Not sure how much longer they would last than Alkalines though.

I'm sorry guys (and girls), but as a bit of an old fogie on this site, can someone please translate this quote from Tellyn888 ? I assume this is some sort of text talk, either that or he was having a fit whilst typing it!

Yes, Jersey is exempt from VAT. That's why loads of online stores are now setting up shop in Jersey.
