  1. DC Cinematic Universe Discussion

It has some No Way Home vibes - it looks good despite all the evidence to the contrary.
  2. Has anyone else seen the incredible things that can be done with AI now? I stumbled across the Dalle-2 subreddit, and some of the stuff it creates is astonishing. Spider-man from ancient Rome Napoleon crossing the Alps on a Harley Davidson a cybertronic bison, leds, high detail, sharp, studio, digital art Karl Marx as a Happy Meal toy Mario finds a mushroom There are a few versions available, with varying degrees of quality and strengths. Most are invite only, and most have a limited amount of runs per user to stop the servers being over-run, but they are fun to try out. Dalle-2 Midjourney Craiyon These things are going to revolutionise certain industries. Concept art can be generated with a couple of sentences. Stock photographs are basically dead. When it eventually makes the jump to 3D, it's going to make creating video game assets amazingly easy. Clearly there are the more scary aspects of it, as they get more and more difficult to discern from real photos, they could be used to generate actual fake news, which is worrying. What are your thoughts? I've just gained access to Dalle-2 after a while on a waiting list. Here's a guinea pig destroying Manhattan.
  3. AI image generators

Apparently the original got suspended on Twitch because the AI Seinfeld started doing some antisemitic and homophobic standup...
  4. The catch is that once you've downloaded and installed it, you end up with a baseball game.
  5. So I've reached Kashyyykkk. The beginning where you infiltrate the AtAt walker, take it over, and start blasting the Empire is fantastic. Again, this game excels at the cinematic portions. The rest of the level is definitely better than the first two. The addition of the force push makes the combat a bit more exciting, and the level design is a bit more interesting to explore.
  6. Plugging away at this game in any spare moments. The story continues to be arse - I'm shying away from progressing the story most of the time because I can't face having to read more crappy dialogue. I've just done the second angry boss Pokémon calming thingy. So I suppose the end of the second area? But I'm still roaming around that bog area trying to complete a few more Poke-entries before I move on. I'm a bit underwhelmed by the Pokémon designs I've seen so far. I've caught maybe 50ish, but I haven't caught many that I actually want to use. I just swapped out an otter wearing a life jacket for a crow wearing a hat, but I'm not that enthused by any of the new gen designs. I think my team is: Typhlosion Bidoof Luxray Graveler Crow with hat Scyther And why are all the grass Pokémon all the same? They're all slender humanoid plant monsters - there's nothing interesting or different. I did see and catch my first ever shiny though the other day (not counting mission specific ones). A shiny graveler! Felt very exciting! I never even saw one playing through Red, Gold or Let's Go, so it felt pretty special.
  7. Metroid Prime Remastered

Oh, I hadn't twigged that this is only the first game. I thought it was the whole trilogy. Not sure I'm willing to spend £35 for only one game...
  8. Metroid Prime Remastered

Apparently it was ready to release in 2018, but they wanted to get the logo juuuuuust right.
  9. Coding

It doesn't. Or at least, it isn't loading for me. You can right click and open the url in another tab though, and it loads.
  10. The Star Wars Thread

Finished watching Andor. It was good, my wife and I really enjoyed it. I'm trying to work out if it was good good, or just good for Star Wars though. At least it's a step in the right direction. Let's hope any other shows are as well written moving forward.
  11. Netflix

I feel like so many streaming shows are drawn out for no reason. Many of them could be 4-5 episodes, but get extended to 10.
  12. General TV Thread

It's astonishing that there are still enough people that watch it, but i guess a lot of people must treat it like a soap now. People probably said that when Coronation Street was renewed for another season in 1972.
  13. General Movie Thread

I watched it the way it was supposed to be watched - on my phone, balanced on the window sill while I did the washing up, with the subtitles on. I didn't notice any issues with the sound, but I'm not sure that I would have? I certainly didn't have any problems hearing what everyone was saying, unlike Bane in Batman where he was genuinely unintelligible. Maybe they adjusted the sound mixing when they put it on Amazon Prime?
  14. General Movie Thread

Finished watching Tenet. What a mess. I had heard that it wasn't very good, but i thought that Nolan might have still put together a good action film, but it's really all over the place. It's so far up it's own arse, that you have no idea what's going on at any point. All the action scenes are just too confusing, and all the dialogue isn't much better. The worst part is when they try to reveal a twist near the end with a wink and a nod, but you're sat there like - don't wink at me, I have no idea what just happened. I blame the lack of Zimmer.
  15. The Star Wars Thread

Endor/Andor episode 3 was really good, hoping the rest of the series is more of the same, but what's this? A plucky band of rebels banding together to fight the evil Empire?! Carrying out raids against forces far in excess of their own?! And a newbie who'll have to gain their trust and prove themselves?! Yep, it's that fucking Star Wars plotline again. Mandalorian trailer looks great though. Love me some Grogu.
  16. General Movie Thread

Saw this trailer in the cinema before Avatar 2, and it looked incredible. Didn't have any hype for it before that, but now I think I might try and catch it. Really enjoyed Avatar 2. Wish I'd been able to see it in IMAX, or even just in 3D, but my wife has been having mega travel sickness with her pregnancy, and thought she'd best stay clear of anything 3D. I still enjoyed the film though. I get the criticisms of the plot, but I think as an action spectacle, it's great. Watched Everything Everywhere All At Once. It was pretty good. It's a great idea, executed well, but I don't really get all the awards it's winning. It's a solid 8/10 though.
  17. bad stuff thread.

Big deal, some of us do it every month.
  18. Jesus Christ this game has some awful writing in it. I just had a 'conversation' with Rei that may be one of the worst things i've ever seen in a video game: "Yknow, lately these space-time distortion things have been popping up here and there. I took a peek into one and saw some tempting items, so I tried ducking in to grab 'em. But it turned out there were legions of tough Pokémon inside. I barely made it out alive... You be careful around those distortions, all right? Anyway! Time to make for the Mirelands Camp." Just casually popped into a space-time distortion to pick up a few things - be careful if you go in too! This is the first time they are mentioned as well.
  19. The Star Wars Thread

Just watched the first couple of episodes of Andor. I was a bit confused during the first episode, as I kept expecting it to be set on Andor, the titular planet for which the series is named, or at least one of the planets forest moons. When the flashbacks started, i assumed it must be one of them, but they didn't refer to the planet name at all, which was weird. It wasn't until halfway through the second episode, i find out the main character's surname is Andor?! What a coincidence, i think, and start Googling. Turns out the planet is called Endor! Anyway, the show is ok so far, but ive heard it needs a few episodes to get going.
  20. Devil May Cry 5 (Spring 2019)

Devil May Cry is exactly the same level of good as Bayonetta.
  21. Awesome. And I refer you to my previous comment regarding the last Pokémon game i played.
  22. Ok, this game is pretty addictive. I can see how many are happy to overlook the crappy graphics and shit writing in order to play a very compelling gameplay loop. I keep itching to pick up and play some more! I actually really like the research task mechanic - it makes you spend a bit more time on each Pokémon, either catching or battling a crappy 'mon that you would normally have overlooked once you caught one of. I also like they way that the game rewards you the same whether you catch them or defeat them, so you can do either and still level up your Pokémon. Speaking of which, mine are all around level 18-21, and i've reached level 2 star ranking, so i'm pretty much a master by this point. I do have a question though - do the alpha Pokemon respawn? Or are they only there once?
  23. N-Europe turns 25!

    Hey, that's me! Go me!
