Going with Mario Wonder. I've played load of Mario Kart 8 before, Metroid I did play a fair amount back on the Gamecube and Zelda I'll probably get to next but I was like you and not a massive fan of Breath of the Wild so I'm in no rush.

Picked up the oled today. Nice condition so that's nice! Came with Mario Kart and Tears of the Kingdom and then I bought Super Mario Bros Wonder and Metroid Prime Remastered. Those should keep me going for a while.

I'd have zero problems with it changing anyway. That's kind of the whole point of this series now, all that stuff already happened.

I ended up agreeing to the Switch anyway. It was a good enough deal that I'm happy enough getting it now for stuff to play and still upgrading if the Switch 2 comes out later this year and I want it.

All this talk of long running podcasts starting to die out has got me in a Giant Bomb nostalgia mood again. Going back into my archives and watching their 2011 Holiday Stream tonight.

The problem is, I wouldn't as this is Nintendo. I need to take a look back at all the rumours that were swirling around as I thought they were hinting no backwards compatibility and back to an LCD screen.

Been offered a Switch OLED cheap so I'm currently debating whether or not to buy it. It's been long enough since I got rid of my original Switch that hopefully there's a good amount of games now for me to play. It's the Switch 2 stuff in the back of my mind that's giving me pause. If it ended up coming out with backwards compatibility then I'd feel like this was a waste of money but if doesn't then I wouldn't mind buying this to play some stuff on, especially now I enjoy handhelds more after the Steam Deck and now ROG Ally.

Ok then, that's The Giggle watched. As far as anniversary specials go though these 3 weren't even close to the 50th. That was something really special and while these felt like a return to form, they still felt pretty basic Doctor Who.

If I want to finally get around to playing Bravely Default should I just jump straight into II?

I did consider it earlier but it's the shipping and import fees that put me off.

Oh yeah I agree but I think announcing them all at once is maybe where the nostalgia milking comes in a bit. I am willing to suckle at that nostalgia teat all day long though, don't get me wrong

What does the game awards air on over in the US do we know? Is it actually shown on tv?

I look forward to seeing more on those Sega games. Nothing wrong with milking the nostalgia every now and again. It'd be nice if these do well to see some more revivals.

Looks good. It'll be nice to play a new Hello Games.....game without all the baggage. I really enjoyed No Man's Sky at launch but could never get into it later on each time I wanted to try out a big update.

Not all that surprising. The awards parts always seemed the least important parts of the "Game Awards", falling way behind trailers, advertising and Keighley's ego.

That Rocket Racing trailer pissed me off. Looks a lot of fun but completely hides the fact that its just a mode in Fortnite. I didn't even realise until I searched for it on the PSN store and couldn't find it. Had to go back to the trailer and see the small writing in the corner at the very end!
