  1. The Conduit 2

I'd rather see this than the Grinder (Alhtough I'd still like to see that too). I enjoyed the first, but the ending left me wanting more. It wasn't so much the open-endedness that annoyed me, but more simply the lack of an epic boss. As far as I recall there's been only one real boss in the game. I'd love to see what's in store for us behind the conduit.
  2. Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Got this too few days ago, finally ordered it online with my christmas money . Didn't pay 16 Pounds for it though haha. Good thing I finished Shattered memories (and Mass Effect by the way), so I can immediately start playing this. Gave it a quick run that night after I got it, I already was convinced it was beautiful, and certainly don't have to tell you guys again, but I watched in amazement anyway. I just love 2D animation and oldskool sprites (gotta get Megaman 10 too ). What I didn't know was that the music is quite epic in its own right. Got right in the mood to watch Mononoke hime or something . Action is fast and furious, that'll take getting accustomed to, I died the very first fight I got into . Even the simple enemies cut you up really fast if you let 'm. I take it from the posts above, some people find this game short? I went as far as chapter 3 or something, and that took me a few hours, and I was rushing. And that map looked really big. This game'll last me a while when I start properly tonight, if I take my time grinding and searching every corner collecting spirits and souls. And hurrah for the original voice acting! And Fragile coming shortly? I love my Wii (imagine me saying that the same way Cheryl does in Silent hill, I can't imagine another way after playing that ).
  3. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Oh fuck that. Had a long post writing about how great this game is, then lost it all when I had to log in again. In short: great game, fantastic atmosphere. I'll probably try the elaborate post again sometime later, perhaps after finishing my first run.
  4. Metroid: Other M

Read this post, than scroll up to glance at Dante's Bayonetta avatar.. "Hmm" is all I say . Don't mind the voice, but too bad they didn't bring back Jennifer Hale. Not that she had much to say in the previous titles (Metroid isn't even mentioned on her site), but that's more reason to bring her back!
  5. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Well, yes, allthough that's how I play all my games (and watch my movies), but since it's still dark early I technically don't have to wait 'till midnight, I could just move my Wii back to my room and and go play . But as I said, I want to watch Dexter as well, and my brother is there watching Lost right now. Kicking him out would be cruel . I couldn't wait 'till tomorrow to get it, but I can wait a few hours . And yeah, I can understand the obsession, my instinct rarely lets me down, so I have a pretty good idea of which games I'll like or even love. Having yet to play, I'm already pretty sure it's top 10 material, though I withhold final judgement 'till after playing/finishing. I'll post my comments when I have. When it was announced, I'm sure some people where going "WTF?" at the notion of "no combat, just running". I however went "ah, obvious".
  6. Tales of Symphonia Official Thread

Ah, good news, unfortunately I won't have the money to buy it immediately. Seeing as the "collector's" edition is still available, I'm not really worried I'm going to miss them, so I'll buy 'm later. They'll be an exception though, I actually intend not to buy any DVD's anymore unless they're not available on blu-ray. I'll (temporarily) join in on the ToS signature fun, the last time there were quite a few members who had 'm I believe? Maybe I'll make my own if there isn't an official one. I'll maike one of Raine, or perhaps I'll do something original. Ah yes idea get!
  7. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

That's probably the time I'll start tonight . I own this game now for a little bit more than 2 hours. The Wii's been in the living room for some time now, so it's only available when my parents go to bed. I'm going to watch Dexter anyway. Had some "pre-fun" by reading the manual, which must be the thinnest I've ever seen. Anyway, can't wait, I'm so excited!
  8. Heh, no offense, but you do like to promote your videos don't you? That said, it's a very nice killstreak indeed. I can't snipe for shit, I'm more of a rusher, sometimes I get experimental. Your video makes me wanna: a: start up CoD6 (I'll go do that after this post) b: install CoD4 (I'll go do that after playing CoD6) c: play a Wii FPS I'm not really one to double dip, but the Wii has simply the best FPS controls among current consoles. I still prefer PC controls, but that doesn't mean I need my Wii FPS fix now and then.. I might go buy CoD4 somewhere in the future. I mean, I'm anticipating Red Steel, but I don't think there's another FPS on the horizon for Wii or is there? (Edit: well, apart from the next Treyarch CoD, but I probably won't be interested in it)
  9. Fatal Frame 4

I really, really, despise ambilight. I probably won't buy any Philips TVs in the future out of principle, eventhough other Philips TVs have served me very well. In general, but I guess especially for the horror genre, I'd get rid of the lights. But then again, I personally always get rid of the lights. I only play games and watch TV series and movies in absolute darkness, just like in the cinemas.
  10. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Dutch webshop Bol mentions 25-02 as the releasedate. Edit: With the cheap retail price of € 40,- I might add. I had money reserved for Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and I'll certainly get it eventually, but I think this'll be a better choice for the short term, so I'm getting this on day 1.
  11. PC Gaming Discussion

You can try Shattered Horizon for free this weekend through Steam. I've always been interested in this title, and after having a quick go, it's obvious this isn't an elaborate release, but I really love the more realistic sci-fi setting and zero-gravito game mechanics. I'd love to see it in an epic full retail release one day, but for now this is fun to try. If there is (going to be) an active mod community and they keep on releasing maps (both official and community ones), I might pick it up later.
  12. I hear the Ati HD 5750 & 5770 are incredibal value for their money, the 5750 is cheaper, and although I don't know the conversionrate, they go around for 100-130 euros, so they should fit within your budget, just check some price comparison site where you can get them the cheapest. If you want cheaper, you can go for an HD 5670. If you go any cheaper, you will be able to play videos, but I don't know about the occasional (recent) videogame. In your situation I'd go for the 5670 or 5750, depending on how much you want to spend and how cheap you can get them. Don't know anything about older cards, can't really find much info on a "8600 GS", an 8600 GTS however, seems to be PCI-E x16, if that's the card you have, than those cards (or any recent card actually) will fit right in. Although, they'll fit in technically, depending on how much room you have there, you might wanna check the actual dimensions . Edit: You might like [this] as well.
  13. Perfect Dark XBLA

I wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me either, it's still a shame though. Not just her face, her breasts are.. Nauseating (that's the right spelling right? ). And that's coming from someone who doesn't object to voloptuous polygonal breasts . I wish they'd gone for an updated version of the [original Japanese model]. That one was based on the likeness of the model (actual model, not a polygonal one :P) of the commercial. You know . And while I'm at it, for the ones not aware of the changes to the Japanese version, check out [this completely awesome Japanese coverart], perhaps the most awesome coverart I've ever seen.
  14. RIP Alexander McQueen

Hmm, once again venturing out in the general forums (nothing else better to do I suppose?) and it boggles me that I learn of this news first here on a Nintendo forum, than, say, from the supermodels.nl newsletter which I receive in my junk mail folder every week. Anyway, actually got a coat of his, from his budgetline ('McQ'), and not quite as exotic as for example those dresses in the pics few posts back. And yeah, in the fashion industry, some designers come with creations which just baffles, you can't imagine anyone wearing the stuff, not even on fancy parties and gala premieres. But I like/love the designs posted on those pics, so I wouldn't include those. I really had to make an effort to get that coat, so I guess that means I'll miss his designs in the future.
  15. Left 4 Dead 2

Great, got them both (and reinstalled both few days ago, after having some problems). Actually I prefer the first one, despite the improvements of the sequel.. Love the cast better (more importantly, Zoey .. Gameover man, game over!), and the setting of the campaigns. I like the cast of the sequel too, except for Ellis, really can't stand the guy and his ridiculous stories told in his annoying voice. As for the campaigns, I love hard rain ands especially dark carnival, like the mall too, but parish is a bit "meh" (don't mind the sunlight however, unlike some people), and really don't care for the swamp.
  16. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

CC's get a bad name because some people use their credit to buy more than they can pay. If you use it like people like me, it's just another, but very versatile method of payment. I would have a lot less stuff without it, buying stuff online was the reason I got one. Paypal on the other hand, I avoid, to keep it Dutch "als de pest". Plenty people use it without any troubles, but I really don't trust it. I've used it twice in my life, because I really didn't have any other choice. I hope that situation never arises again, and I've gotten rid of my account. To be honest, for Dutch webshops, I prefer Ideal (a Dutch payment option for webshops, for all you non-Dutch people on this forum, quite a lot I believe :P) actually. With Ideal, your money is instantly gone, I don't have to keep tabs of which money I already spent. I have yet to buy Muramasa, but I'll buy it from Bol.com shortly, using Ideal. I'll get Tatsunoko vs Capcom from the store using cash .
  17. Perfect Dark XBLA

Ah yes, the Klobb! Even though I was more of an double cyclone guy (or in GoldenEye double AR33), hearing the sound of you blasting around with 2 Klobbs was mighty satisfying . As a big Nintendo fan, and as someone who thinks games should usually be played in their original form, I must admit I'm a little jealous now, hearing all the improvements . Can easily imagine this being the best console mp fps experience, a downloadable port of a years-old game for god's sake . I keep hearing about the aim-assist trend on console games, so I hope for your sake that despite the improvements, they stayed old-fashioned in that regard .
  18. Indie Games

I've just read [a review] on [VVVVV], I think it looks really cool. You can see a video of the gameplay on [the site of the (I believe 1-man) studio]. (might just as well embed it here)
  19. Dead Space Extraction

No, I haven't, I have the first game still lying on the shelf, I'll get to it eventually. As Extraction is a prequel, there's no prior story to be known (well, there is I believe, but that's not what the first game is about). The gamers who've played the first will love the references and the fact they know what will happen after this game, but aside from that, it's the same experience.
  20. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

    On-rails party game .
  21. Help me please: Game install issues with Windows 7

I built my computer a few months ago. The plan was to have a partition of 20-30 GB which only contains Windows, and make partitions for other OS's on the remaining diskspace of that raid volume, which is only around 60 GB total. In the meantime I've learnt Linux, or at least Ubuntu, doesn't like onboard raid, so I have to put my Linux experimentation on hold for now. So for now I've got the full 60 GB at my disposal, but I'd still like to reserve 30 GB for 1 or 2 other OS's in the future. So I don't really have the space to install a game on C. After playing around with my lovely computer for a few months, I really hate finding out plenty software just drops stuff on C without my consent. And I still see software that doesn't give me the option to install it anywhere but on C. I'd like to keep it clean.
  22. Sadness

Ah. In that case, sticky please.
  23. Sadness

Ha ha, can someone delete this thread? I'd normally wouldn't ask for such drastic measures, but I really, really, never want to see this thread topping the forum again! It makes me.. Sad. ..
  24. Help me please: Game install issues with Windows 7

Ah see, venturing once again in the general forums pays off, sort off . Installed C&C 3 not long ago, got the same problem. But with an enormous backlog of games (PC and Wii and DS ) to play, I didn't bother to find out what the problem was. I'm unwilling to install it on C however.. Guess I'll just install it under Vista, once I've reinstalled that.
  25. Rare Wii games?

Heh, bought Kororinpa 2 (because that's what it's really called people ) not that long ago, December I think, because I didn't think I'd be able to find it on shelves (and especially that particular one) for long. The last copy as far as I remember. It's still sealed, haven't really played the first one actually. Have a few others on the list in the opening post, but most of those aren't rare I reckon.. I wonder which games really are rare. I do my gameshopping pretty much in one store, and the stock of one store of course isn't representative of what's rare and common. If I venture in other stores there are usually some games to be found which I assumed would be hard to find. Saw Wario the other day for example. And then there's online.
