  1. Solitanze get ready to cream your pants... TP is now on the gamerankings err.. ranking page by default as it has now received 20 votes click to see its placement > http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/simpleratings.asp?rankings=y
  2. That strip is hilarious! Funniest thing I've seen in a while. Is that Jeff Geerstman or just jaded games journalists in general?
  3. I can kinda see where that gamespot guy is coming from in regards to the formula being the same. As I haven't played the game yet I'm relying on what he's saying. It seems you have the same basic overworld/dungeon concept as in all other Zeldas. I guess it all comes down to if you like the classic Zelda formula or not. I myself have always loved the formula of Zelda. Nintendo always comes up with enough changes to keep it fresh, interesting and different from previous iterations. eg. sailing in WW, The three day thing in MM (which sadly I haven't played yet, but the VC will make up for that ) and the wolf transformation in TP are things that spring to mind. As near perfect as most Zelda games are, you can hardly say that they are unique. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus seem to have this unique quality to them. At least that seems to be the general consensus but since I'm not a playstation owner I haven't played them. Then again they aren't part of a series as such like Zelda is so one could argue that the developers have more freedom to make them truly unique experiences. edit: However can you knock a game for not being unique when everything in the game is done near perfectly? /edit Miyamoto said it well at the first presentation of TP when he said: (And I'm totally pulling this quote out from the back of my memory) "...In order to grow Link cannot stand still (and neither can I. So thank you)" Haven't Nintendo themselves said that TP will be the last traditional Zelda? (or am I pulling this out of my ass?) Maybe they themselves feel that the franchise needs to move forward in order to once again redefine 3D (adventure) gaming? Don't think I'm bashing TP though. I'm looking forward to this game as much as everybody else here. I do my best to avoid anymore spoilers because I want my playing experience to be as pure as it can be when I finally sit down with the game especially because the story of the game seems to be where the game really excels and stands out from the others.
  4. OMG! I'm SO not bothering with the Wii after the abysmal score TP received from GS!!1 I'm also done with the Zelda franchise for good! All future Zelda games are doomed In all seriousness though, it's too bad for Jeff Geerstman that he doesn't get the same level of enjoyment out of the game that all of the other reviewers do eg. getting blown away by it. Giving it an 8.8 he clearly thinks it's a really good game but I think he may have become a bit of a cynic over the years when it comes to games. I'm just sad I won't get to play it for a couple of weeks
  5. Here's an idea. If someone want a harder zelda just avoid stocking fairies in the bottles. That should make it a bit harder. Maybe I should try this myself. I usually always have all my bottles full of fairies when I venture into a dungeon. sometimes it feels like cheating when I play the ocarina in front of a gossip stone in Oot to get an extra fairy
  6. The wolf can ride the horse?! holy crap :p
  7. Speaking of those reviews... Where are they? I was sure we would be seeing them today (friday)
  8. AMN has their review up now I'm linking to the last page, as it includes some good final words about the game and that page doesn't contain any spoilers (except maybe for one or two small thumbnails at the right side. http://wii.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=8237&pg=4&comments=&preview=
  9. That controller grip looks pretty interesting. I can imagine that holding the controller classic style within that shell would be comfortable. Wouldn't be ideal for games where you're switching control style all the time though Has it been confirmed yet if the wii-mote can plug into the classic controller btw?
  10. ah I see... Thanks for the quick reply. Now I can sleep sound
  11. Can anyone tell me why there are three different avg. ratios on the gamerankings site? The one near the top of the page says 98% and the two others further down say 98.3% and 98.4% http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/928519.asp
  12. Don't know about Ridley being harder to beat than in the NTSC version, because I haven't played that one, but yeah it took me quite a few tries to beat that boss
  13. That one had me laughing out loud. Good one
  14. That's one sweet trailer the guy does a great job of conveying the emotions I assume one would have in a war situation like that. And there's a lot of game footage too instead of focusing mainly on the actors like some other commercials have done.
  15. Which sites are those?
  16. Nice. I also noticed that Toys "R" Us will have Wii playable in week 48.
  17. Toys "R" Us and BR (also a toy store) has it listed for 2199 kroner here in Denmark, which is the equivalent of €295 I preordered my Wii (hope I'm not too late) today at EB Games and the clerk told me that they didn't know the final price yet but they were expecting it to cost between 2000-2500 DKK
  18. Yeah there is some very interesting stuff there regarding weapons and a bit about the story as well. And McMad, that info you posted in your spoiler box does indeed seem to be true, because I read the scans in the forum. Damn small text I might add
  19. It sucks that they release those crappy stills instead of doctored shots if it's an industry standard to do so... It makes people question the hardware...
  20. Yeah that's a really cool idea. And something that would set the Wii version apart from the other versions.
  21. So you think I should have made an entirely new thread about a thought/idea I had about Animal Crossing in regards to how it could utilize the Wii Connect 24, when there is already a thread here dealing with that subject? That doesn't make sense now does it?
  22. Of course it's his personal opinion. Would he write it if it wasn't? I'm sick of that political correctness crap.
  23. Wouldn't it be cool if Animal Crossing Wii uses the data from the forecast channel to mimic the real weather conditions? That would be taking it one step further than just having the days follow the clock in the machine
  24. I would definitely like to see Star Craft Ghost on the Wii. I was really bummed when I heard it wasn't coming out on the cube, but of course I lost interest in the game because we haven't heard anything about it for years now. Wasn't the main reason for not doing it for the game cube that it didn't feature online? They can't use that excuse anymore...
  25. OK I haven't playing any of those games so I didn't know this. Makes sense to have the game world on both discs. Are the cut scenes in Baiten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia prerendered? Seeing that Zelda have realtime cut scenes would save quite a bit of space I would imagine
