Whats everyone most looking forward to next year?
Ashley replied to KKOB's topic in General Chit Chat
Not much in the gaming world is causing me to be excited about it (weird way to phrase that I know). Im interested in several things (eg E3 and Revolution) but not really excited. But on a non-gaming front I'm looking forward to 2005 being over, as its been the worse year yet. Plus it looks like its going to be a good year. So, yay for that! -
Personally I like the crowded appeal, I love the hustle and bustle of cities. And also I'd love to go back to NY but in the winter time. It'd be more of a hassle to get round but Central Park in the snow baby, that'd be a site. Plus many more places but its way past when I should be in bed.

Top Five stupid questions i get while working
Ashley replied to DiemetriX's topic in General Chit Chat
Meik you work at the Safari Park? You know Karrie Kenzovich (sp?) and I think Claire Hill works there...maybe. Anyway, back on topic. To add some from my work; "Is this on the 2 for £50 offer?" "No, only the ones with the 2 for £50 stickers are?" "So not this one?" "No." "What games are in the bundles" "So is [another game not listed] on it?" "No." And much more. If I said what I though they'd so hate me. I'd be so sarcastic. "Is this game on the bundle then?" "Yes, I just decided not to mention it cause I thought it would be a fun little game to prolong this conversation because you're so damn cool!" Oh and this was a classic back at Woolies. Someone went up to my friend/colleague Myles, at the entertainment counter (which is clearly marked and surrounded by games/cds/dvds bear in mind), and asked "Do you sell CDs?" He just stared for a moment before blankly saying "Which one did you want?" Silly people. -
March? That was optimistic.

I think dd just means the overlooming fear that it could happen again, the same way most people have a small fear of flying incase the plane crashed etc. Its kind of a silly fear but still prevails. Or maybe dd just meant something else.

But how will you know when its fixed eh? Just emailed AMN, although I'm sure they know about it already.

I like the text effect but the background pales in comparison. So overall a 7. (Just realised, mine has remained the same for about two months. Woo!) -
Ah yes, the amusing "Hurricane Katrina was God's wrath because Ellen DeGeneras (sp?) is hosting the Oscars" laughably stupid. And I'd imagine its scarier to live in London but I like in a small town where not much is likely to happen.

Sounds ideal, I'll have a look in when im on my way down town later. Thanks.

Batty and Platty, sounds like some kind of crimefighting duo. Maybe its because I'm more likely to come under attack/be affected from Christian Extremists than Muslim Extremists (maybe thats not a statistic but its a feeling). And yes maybe im not aware of all the badness that goes on elsewhere, but as long as I put my hands up and admit I don't can't I live in blissful ignorance?

Anyone know of anything sub-£20, just a little crappy flash one. Got a Zen Touch and thats great but when I'm walking to town to meet people at night I can't take that and just want some music to pass the time. Oh and in shops, could do with it before xmas.

Well back to christian extremists; my opinion is based upon my experiences and insights (by that I mean what I read/hear about on the news and such rather then personal experiences) so I obviously don't know everything that goes on, nobody does. But to me it seems that Muslim Extremists (and others say) tend to do suicidal bombings and all that stuff thats often talked about because they feel they are doing it for the good of their family and such. They feel they have sinned and feel that suicide bombings will rectify this (in their opinion). Christian Extremists in my experience tend to just be out after anyone they dislike; be they Pagen, Gay or whatever. I could find examples but I'm making a christmas present and that. Just wanted to explain my opinion.

To address a few of the issues (with the least on topic one first); I find christian extremists more threatening/scary than any other religious exteremists, but thats a different topic. You don't need a mother and father figure. I love my dad but I don't feel as if he's contributed much more than a free taxi service. He's never passed on his manly advice or anything and maybe thats just who he is. My mom was raised single-handedly my her mom for "the most important years of her life" (never been an exact year range but from at least 8-18 I'd guess considering how old she is and how long my grandparents have been together). Similarly, my friend's parents are divorced and her dad lives a fair distance. They get on fine and all that but she's grown up without that "strong male influence" thats apparently so important and she's a perfectly fine, if not great, person. Her mom was both the father and mother to her and people do do it fine. And onto gay marriage/legal ...whatever its called. Yay for that. Its about bleedin' time.

I seriously think its server issues. I'll look into it tomorrow though. Bedtime for me soon.

Goes to show that the teacher can make all the difference. Mine didn't care much for the science either. Yeah we had to do all the experimental stuff to get the right ticks, but he tried his best to make it as useful (rather than something you have to do) and enjoyable as he could. Maybe I just really liked my teacher ^_^

I don't mind if you find storylines about incest, rape, murder, drug abuse and such "silly", doesn't bother me one bit :P But seriously, each to their own. Anyway; "Prison Break starts 24th January 9pm Five"

Its going slow for me too. Must be that christmas strain on the servers (gotta love christmas, it can be used as the blame for everything).
-
They weren't allowed to do this, somehow they changed it all overnight. It was quickly taken down.

After havign worked for three years in retail at christmas; none.

Finally got round to sorting my bluetoothness out. Just bored one night. Like the contrast between the image and the CU of the mic. And of course the bottle of Dr Pepper. And bored on the way to college or work one foggy morning.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen Minority Report and Blade Runner. MR was alright, except crumbfest 2000 that was the ending. BR I never got into too much. Dunno why.

Its an interesting idea, but been done a fair bit. You need to find something thats still within the pop-culture brains of people but not been overdone such as..... maybe "The Scream" but then thats still a classic painting. Maybe the famous picture of...someone being lifted after the 66 world cup win (you know what im on about). Will try and think of other things that may work.

I tried last night, did it wrong and didn't notice before I went out. Fixed now.

Be careful, theres supposed to be a 3-time limit. Anyway, I chose Game cause I work there and heart it. To be fair I rarely went in before but still, I heart work. It rocks.
