Tom Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 When I moved into my new flat I wired up my pc to use my TV as a second screen. I also wired up the sound outputs so when i'm watching a video on my tv from my pc I can use the TV remote for the volume. To do the sound I used a 3.5mm splitter jack in the back of my pc. I plug the pc speakers in 1 side, and the tv in the other. I have just noticed (after 5 months...) that with this arrangement I only get sound out of one of my PC speakers. Is there anyway to do what I'm doing, but in a way that wont mean I lose half the signal to each? I assume a sound card upgrade with a 2nd output socket would do it, but anyother ways would be very appreciated.
Mr_Odwin Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 You can get a stereo splitter that splits the stereo signal into two stereo signals and not just into two mono ones - which I suspect yours may be doing. I got one from Maplin: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=1221&doy=18m11
Tom Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 excellent! I got the origional mono one from maplins (they are so great for geeky bits of wire, my whole flat is wired up with maplins). I'll go in monday and get a stereo one. thankyou mr_odwin!
