Cube Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 All of a sudden, my computer won't play DVDs. I'm using Windows Media Player 11 (have been using it for ages) on Vista (been fine the past 2 weeks), and all of a sudden, I get this message when I play a DVD: Your computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs, and then try again. I've tried closing every program that Vista doesn't need running, same error message. I've searched for spyware (Windows Defender), and it says nothing. Task Manager says my computer is using 330MB of Physical Memory (I have 512MB of RAM). I'm not sure if that's too high. PowerDVD has an unknown error when I play a DVD. Does anyone have a clue as to what the solution is? (I'm itching to watch my Matrix Ultimate Collection).
Pyxis Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 If it's just DVD's you're having problems with, have you tried re-installing a DVD decoder? You can easily download one off limewire.
Cube Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 I got "MPlayer", not the best media player, but it works.
Cube Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 do you actualy own a dvd player No, neither do I own a TV. I'm stuck with using a rubbish TV card to play my GameCube (and Wii when I get one), with rubbish-quality image.
