Raining_again Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Looking for a graphics card (preferably under 200) 2 dvi connections passive cooling (ie no fans :P) and ofcourse pci-e format Dont want an uber big passive cooling thing on it, because im due to get Zalamn aero cooler which might cause problems with size and weight/pressure on motherboard. Was looking at NVIDIA Fanless 7600GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E and was suggested NVIDIA Fanless 7600GS 256MB DDR2 PCI-E by a mate. Have got the option of two with sli, but i'm not sure if i want to go down that very expensive road Opinions?
gaggle64 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 I think the 7600GT would be a good choice, with a decent price and performance. The GS is mainly for the the low budget market, and as such is pretty pants.
Raining_again Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 Yeah i did use a comparison tool and the benchmarks are a brave bit higher on the gt version.. ive got a 6600gt atm and its starting to go a bit weird, making crunchy noises.. :S
Konfucius Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 ive got a 6600gt atm and its starting to go a bit weird, making crunchy noises.. :S Maybe there's a lot of dust in the fan. Had that problem once too but a vacuum cleaner solved it.
