The sonars are for levels, you go to the origin of the sonar ping and you'll find a portal to take you up or down. Red ripple is down, blue is up... the deeper you go the badder the nasties become, be sure to evolve or you'll end up deadz0r. I kinda like it, obviously it's Sony's ethical industry poster game..
