NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 http://maxcarter.newsvine.com/_news/2006/09/13/361441-nintendo-wii-price-and-launch-date-revealed Nintendo of Japan today announced that the Wii will be priced at $199 and will be launched on Nov 5th in the US and on 13th December in Europe. Japan see's the console coming out on Nov 1st.
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 It's meant to be real... It's not some BS I made up. Take from it what you will.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 13 december sems a bit late to me.
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 I thought of that to start with but atm the advertising is doing enough for the kids to see what is coming and still enough time for parents to do the Xmas shopping so I don;t see it as being that late at all really and I think the DS was around that time in Aus/Europe? I can't remember as I got mine from US in November.
solitanze Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 13 december sems a bit late to me. Its just before Christmas, Christmas rush, and its better than March 2007.
The Peeps Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I thought it hadnt started yet... http://www.n-sider.com/media/news-2006-09-13-wiicountdown.html Countdown until the start of the conference...
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 I see what you mean by the add-on now, that link has been updated since.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I dont know. Some people buy their gifts early. By this time alot of people would have bought their presents.
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Ninja, it started at 10am Jap time and 11am Aus time and it is 1:42pm here now in Aus. I understand what you are saying Sub, but it's still enough time when parents know what their kids want and anyway, Nov 5th for USA and Nov 1st for Japan, really the two main markets, that is plenty of time. As usual though, Europe and Australia will get it later but I really don't think it is too late for Xmas, in a way I do, but it's still time enough for these two regions, IMO anyway.
The Peeps Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Yes but apparently it's been delayed. Read the 'Japan Event' topic.
Raven Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 its bullshit. here is a countdown timer to the conference http://www.n-sider.com/media/news-2006-09-13-wiicountdown.html also, read that guys profile. he hasnt made any entries up until now, he joined the news group in september (probably today). and apparantly he is Max Carter, expert and reporter, here to bring you the realness. cmon... thats the cheesiest thing ever. lock this thread please. im sure we can wait another hour.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Apparently Max Carter is just a blogger at Newsvine. Not a reporter. Edit: You beat me to it Raven.
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 It could be wrong all together. I did get this sent from a friend and questioned and didn't get an exact answer back and then I look at the count-down and then look at this below... "Further, a series of foreign press events are about to kick off, with Nintendo Co. in Japan set to make announcements from 3:00PM (AEST) tomorrow, September 14th. Details from Nintendo of America will filter through later tomorrow night, and Nintendo of Europe will make the rounds leading into Friday." So yeah, if it's 1:54pm here now and it will be at 3pm, it's all wrong. However the guy did say he was there, perhaps he isn't anywhere but it doesn't say he was told this by Nintendo's head people, just someone related to Nintendo Japan. I'll wait another hour before confirmation from other websites. I did read somewhere, probably was Aussie-Nintendo that it was all starting at 11am in Aus and 10am in Japan, what was this all about? I think Aussie-Nintendo may have changed their times around.
Raven Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Apparently Max Carter is just a blogger at Newsvine. Not a reporter. Edit: You beat me to it Raven. not only did i beat you to it, i made it look good!!! :awesome: i would have posted on this thread earlier, but i was busy beating down the same post in the 'japan chat' thread!
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 How'd you make it look good? The spelling mistakes and lack of capitals doesn't make it look good at all.
solitanze Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 The real announcement would announce price, date and "WHAT YOU GET" for the price you pay [i.E. Accessories included with console] right?
Raven Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 How'd you make it look good? The spelling mistakes and lack of capitals doesn't make it look good at all. It's a joke man... settle settle. No need to pick holes in lack of punctuation... and adding capitals is easy. I can fix that for you as well! New York. London. Canberra. Melbourne.
NintendoDS Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Raven I don't normally pick on spelling and such however you said it looked good, I just didn't see it that way, sorry.
