How do I get my coputer to boot from a CD when I restart it? Thanks you have to go into the bios when you start your computer and put the cd drive as the first one to boot, there are diferent ways of getting into the bios on different computers but on mine you press delete when the dell sign comes up.
Charlie Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 When you're computers starting up it will say "Hit delete to enter setup" or "Press f12 to enter setup". Just keep on pressing it until it comes up. You'll have to look thrugh the options there and change it so you boot from the Cd first.
RoadKill Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Yeah, it will be in the BIOS under "Boot Options" or "Boot Order". You want to make the CD-ROM the first device to boot from. However that's hassles, easier to press the key for the Boot Menu as your system loads, it should say which key it is when it's booting (if you have some shit ass fancy splash screen, press escape or tab to get rid of it temporarily).
Sarka Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Thanks, got the start up going but it jammed at the same spot twice, must be a bad CD or something. I'll sort it out someday...
