Tellyn Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Not sure if you've seen this already, but Google now has a viewable satellite picture surface of Mars. The map is very expansive, covers a good section of the planet, if not most of it. http://www.google.com/mars/ Search Olympus Mons for the largest mountain on Mars.
Cube Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Seen it ages ago. Just waiting for them to put it into Google Earth.
Tellyn Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 Isn't the idea of Google Earth for it to be, uh, Earth?
Cube Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Isn't the idea of Google Earth for it to be, uh, Earth? http://www.google.com/mars/about.html#earth Can I see the Mars data using the Google Earth client? Not yet, but we're working on it. To whet your appetite, you can check out this 3-D fly-through movie of Valles Marineris made using this data.
AshMat Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 "Google Solar System" It'd be good if they did planet plugins for each of the planets, and when you zoom out of the planet you can see them all orbiting
