Indigo Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 It seems the only sport that ever seems to get a mention around here is football, and while it's a good game, personally I find watching Rugby Union much more interesting. So as the thread title asks - are there any fans here? I'm a Sale Sharks supporter myself. The ground is only a couple of miles away from where I live, and the ticket prices are reasonable, so I go to most of the home games. We're fourth in the premiership table at the moment, although we're level on points with Gloucester in third and only a point behind Wasps and Leicester in second and first respectively; so we're closer to the top than fourth might suggest.
the_villa Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 jason Robinson has retired from the international side of rugby to spend more time with his family
Indigo Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 Andy Robinson has retired from the international side of rugby to spend more time with his family That'd be Jason Robinson. Andy is the manager.
Charlie Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Is Rugby Union the popular one (Johnny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward etc)?
Ice9 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Is Rugby Union the popular one (Johnny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward etc)? Yes it is. Im a rugby fan, a Bath Rugby fan infact. Finally got our first win, we have been pretty unlucky so far, scored a heck of a lot of points and got almost no rewards. 4 tries against Newcastle, hopefully things are looking up.
James Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Rugby League all the way, its faster and better and teams win by scoring tries and not penalty kicks all the time and hoofing it into touch every chance they get. But I do like watching England get a good hammering.
izumijones Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Yeh Rugby Union is my sport, enjoy football too but iv always preffered rugby. Swansea Neath Ospreys fan myself (mouthful of a name for a team :S), and of course always following my national team Wales. Nice to see us do well in the 6 nations last year i certainly dont think Wales will perform anywere near as well now, Im looking forward to the upcoming Powergen cup it will be interesting to see how that goes I dont think the Welsh regions will fair to well against the English sides .
wildo Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Cardiff Blues fan here, live just outside of cardiff making it easy to see home games and I am looking forward to the anglo-welsh cup. could be interesting and help the welsh teams by playing tougher opponents than say scottish teams, mind you ospreys cant even beat them, hehe.
the_villa Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I am not sure if England will do well since some of good players have retired from the international side of things
