Dr.Boo Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Is there a list of games that were on previous Nintendo consoles (ruling out the GameCubhe games, since it won't need a Virtual Console to play those) and that will be available for download on the Rev's Virtual console? I'm thinking about Paper Mario 1, Super Mario 64, the really old school Super Mario games, etc. Now that I'm almost at the end of Paper Mario 2, I'd really like to play the first one when I'll buy the Revolution. sorry it this has been asked before: I searched the forums, and didn't find anything.
ShadowV7 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Should of posted this in the other VC thread.Anyway no one really know's yet though there was a amde up list a while ago.Best bet is E3.
Nintendork Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 There was that market research thing they did. Apparently Nintendo comissioned the research and it detailed a list of about 30 classic games, though this cannot be considered as definitive indicator of what we'll see on the Virtual Console. Problem is Rare games were listed on it- which since then it has been been brought to light that now Microsoft owns Rare the games will probably not be on the back catalogue (being in Microsoft's interest to do so) Yeah this could have gone in the other thread really. NES Games Balloon Fight Baseball Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Dr. Mario Duck Hunt Excitebike Hogan's Alley Ice Climber Ice Hockey Kid Icarus Kirby Kung Fu Mario Bros. Mario Open Golf Metroid Pinball Pro Wrestling Punch Out RC Pro AM Soccer Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 Tennis Tetris Urban Champion Volleyball Wario's Woods Yoshi's Cookies Zelda Zelda (Adventure of Link) S-NES Games Battle Clash Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong Country 2 Earthbound F-Zero Illusion of Gaia Killer Instinct Kirby's Avalanche Kirby Dream Course Kirby Super Star Kirby 3 Pilot Wings Sim City Star Fox Stunt Race FX Super Mario Kart Super Mario RPG Super Mario World Super Metroid Super Play Action Football Super Scope 6 Super Soccer Super Tennis Tetris Attack Tetris 2 Uniracers Vegas Stakes Wario's Woods Yoshi's Hunting Yoshi's Island Zelda N64 Games 1080 Blast Corps Bomberman 64 Cruisin' USA Goldeneye Mario Golf 64 Mario Party 3 Mario Tennis 64 Ogre Battle 64 Paper Mario Pilot Wings 64 Pokemon Snap WHY OH WHY?!? Sin & Punishment Star Fox 64 Super Mario 64 Wave Race Yoshi's Story Zelda This list was announced far before we heard from Sega and Hudson- so as a result we have had no word on what we might see (but Sonic will be there I guess)
21st century cowboy Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I wonder if there will be a package where you can buy all the Super Mario games togerther so they are a bit cheaper. I hope they do Excitebike 64. That 64 list looks a bit sparse at the mo.
Calibur Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Yeah way too sparse, there were alot of sweet N64 games, I want to see somemore.
ShadowV7 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 There probably will be.Here's hoping there will be a list of the game's just after the conference.
Nintendork Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 They've already said there will be a DRM system to ensure their content is protected. So if they're taking that much time to offer demos and stuff via DRM. Theoretically they should be able to update downloads and offer exclusive deals as they see fit. On launch, perhaps the list will be sparse.. and simply get updated as more deals are signed- much like how iTunes grew.
21st century cowboy Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Yeah Nintendo do seem very keen to compare it to iTunes. I hope Micro$oft haven't stole too much content, so we get lots of exclusives.
Dr.Boo Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Thanks for the replies. And I'm sorry for not putting this into the appropriate thread (any moderator, please feel free to merge the threads or something if you think it's necessary) I wonder if they're going to retouch the games so they look better
ShadowV7 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Don't think they will, just maybe the really good ones.Would also cause a bit of a delay and I don't think they have that much time.
Tellyn Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Wasn't there a megalist of 120 games that went all over the Internet, showing the ones Nintendo could do?
