You are better using xvid or x264. They are free and generally give better output quality than divx.

Pretty much the easiest way to convert (well dependent on your original file type) is to use AutoGK. It does most of the leg work for you.

If you want to be hardcore then do it with Virtualdubmod or Gordian Knot.

want you dont want to go through id trying to find an avi- dvd/ifo/bup file converter.

my brother went throuh loads of different software. he stopped cos he got streesed. then i chose to look and by chance found one. and avi to dvd converter, i was chuffed.

it seems as if the answer has already bveen answered so theres not much for me to say. :D

VirtualDub Mod is great for saving videos as different file types such as XviD or DivX. You'll need the encoders though, I ususally get them from the Klite Codec Pak. Google is your friend.
