*Dalco* Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Hi i need a new phone and i don't know what to get! i want to spend a maximum of around £150. The three phone i have seen are the motorola V3, Nokia 6630 and a Sony Ericsson Z520i. Which one would you reccomned and also what are the good/bad points. cheers p.s. if anyone can reccomend anything else as good or better for same price range on pay as you go please let us know
arab_freak Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Nokia n70, has all the modern features, and gets "mainstream support" for applications/games etc. Like a PDA without the touch screen.
Charlie Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 The v3 sucks, it doesn't really do anything at all for the price you pay. The v3x is awesome though, but I'm not sure on its price. The k750i is really good too. Why not save up a bit more and splash out on the w800i?
Andrew Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Stay away from motorolas, their software is slow the buttons are crap too. I've been told that Sony Ericssons are the best performance wise.
arab_freak Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 The current Ericsson models are good, but they're not supported by developers as much as any Nokia phone. Nokia phones are mainstream where I am, anyone using any other brand is either labelled an idiot or too poor to afford one. Anyway, you get the following with the n70: -2 megapixel camera - mp4 recording/playback -mp3 playback -20 hour battery life -Oodles of dev support, lots of games and handy widgets -Customizable themes makes it pretty to look at Cons: None that I know of. :|
Atomic Boo Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I like motorolas and im thinking of getting the motorola SLVR: nice features for such a compact stylish phone
arab_freak Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I like motorolas and im thinking of getting the motorola SLVR: nice features for such a compact stylish phone My grandfather uses that one (the flip model, that is), and it's crap. No bluetooth/wireless connectivity, and crap camera. Absolutely no software support from developers. Just a phone you can give to old people who can't use modern technology.
HairyArse Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I would get a Sony Ericsson K750i if I were you.
