Charlie Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4275988.stm "Search site Ask Jeeves is getting rid of the iconic valet that has been its companion since its earliest days. Citing "user confusion" over what the butler character represents the search site has said that Jeeves will soon be phased out." Ask Jeeves sucks anyway, maybe they'll change their name?
GoonFace Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 What's the point of slowly phasing him out, not many people go on there so no one will really notice. Except my old graphics teacher, who actually asked him questions. Instead of typing "lithography" into the search engine, he typed "what is lithography?" :lmao:

I did that too a couple of years ago :aww:
Ramar Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I sometimes type in "what is <Enter what I'm searching for here>" into google, especially when I want to know what something is. But I never put a question mark.
Guest Offerman Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I think thats where the confusion lay. I mean you could ask Google if you wanted to, but it would be a waste of time because the same result would come out, but then again - Google is far more powerful.
Charlie Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 I'm sure you'd get the exact same result on Ask Jeeves if you put in the "what is" or just left it out too.
